What a wonderful cabin on such a beautiful property. My fiancée and I spent a weekend her with our dogs and will back again soon. We have stayed many places in the mountains of western North Carolina and this cabin is perfect. It has amazing views and absolute privacy, yet it is only minutes from the wonderful little town of Saluda, and a short trip to Asheville. A great find that I highly recommend.

It was hard waking up here in Atlanta to go back to work and to get the girls started back to school this morning - especially compared to waking up in Saluda! All of us (wife, girls, my parents, Prissy the dog and myself) had a wonderful time at this most beautiful and peaceful place. After a relaxing and interesting drive up Scenic Highway SC 11 to get there, we loved all the time we spent in the town of Saluda, in the beautiful forest and on the porch at the Blackberry cabin. We had fun exploring Asheville, Hendersonville, gem mining and tubing down the Green River and enjoyed dinner (Purple Onion - yum!)and the shops in Saluda too. The most fun was probably just watching our girls play on the porch, in the loft, walk in the woods and roast marshmallows by the fire! Greenville was nice but hot on the way back, although I-85 wasn't so good. I would highly recommend this beautiful area, river, town and cabin. We really appreciate you guys sharing it with us.

Around the switchback curves leading to "The Blackberrry", the world of the "tyranny of the immediate" begins to fade. Up the dirt road and around a bend, there unfolds before you a cabin nestled on the side of a hill overlooking the most spectacular view of the Green River Gorge. The first time we went to the Blackberry I unloaded the car, opened the windows and promptly fell into a blissful sleep for about 4 hours. Peace, Shalom for the body and soul... We have returned many times now and the experience is always new with each season and each sunrise and sunset. We are thankful there is such a place and the owners are generous enough to share at such a bargain.

I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful home last Summer and will be returning in several weeks for " my Blackberry fix!" Tastefully appointed, comfy beds and ahhh the porch with the views and the rocking chairs.... I think we solved most of the world's problems...wonderful early morning at sunrise and sunet. A Great kitchen which is fully equipped for all our evening meals-go to the Fresh Market and pick up extras at Thompson's Grocery downtown Saluda. If you have to check your email, you can visit the local library. Loved the eclectic shops downtown Saluda, the Dish Barn en route to Hendersonville is lots of fun and there is a great shop about a mile from Interstate on the left(headed towards Saluda) that has great statuary. We found it more difficult to leave the cabin & were content to watch the Olympics on TV, read a book, eat, walk the dogs, go down to the river, take a nap and Repeat as necessary. A special thanks to the Atchley Family for a wonderful private retreat. |

We just returned from the Blackberry and had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, modern, and fully furnished. Having 2 bedrooms w/ complete baths was a treat! The view is unbelievable. Best of all, the cabin was dog-friendly and we always travel with our best friends. The drive was a bit stomach-clenching for a flatlander, but it was mostly paved which made it easier. Once there, it was wonderful! It was very hard to leave and come back to real life. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful place with us.

The cabin is very clean and comfortable and our dog enjoyed exploring the 25 acres surounding the cabin. We look forward to spending another weekend at the cabin sometime soon. Many Thanks! |

What a great cabin! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It's hard to believe how quickly you can get up to Saluda from the Charlotte area and then how you can feel like you are a world away from home. We went to the cabin with our small children who loved exploring the property, picking blackberries, making smores, relaxing in the hammock, playing with the toys in the cabin, watching videos and sleeping in the cool loft area. They thought it was great and asked if we could live there all the time. We loved relaxing on the porch and enjoying the beautiful views and hummingbirds. We had great dinners at The Purple Onion and Green River BBQ. We also enjoyed seeing Pearson Falls. There were so many things to do we didn't have enough time. We'll have to do them on our next visit - hope to go back to the Blackberry again.

We were back again this summer picking up kids from summer camp and had already booked the Saluda cabin for our summer stay in NC. The house and view were just as I remembered it from last summer and we had a great time. The owner is always very accommodating and it is nice working directly with the owner in renting the house and making plans. We visited places we hadn't seen during our last trip: DuPont National Forest (not sure of correct name), Flat Rock (we found a wonderful gallery and other stores), and went to Asheville to walk around downtown which I would highly recommend. Don't miss the Early Girl Cafe there. Also, the owner of the Blackberry had recommended Flight in Hendersonville...a upscale but absolutely wonderful restaurant. Green River Barbeque is always a favorite and kayaking with Green River Adventures. We ventured out to Brevard during this visit and canoeing on the French Broad. But a simple tubing trip down the Green River is well worth the time. We'll be back next summer! |

We spent a long weekend at the cabin in early June. Friends joined us and we had a great time. The weather was fantastic. Mostly sunny with a gentle breeze. One morning we awoke to a gentle rain that only lasted an hour or so. It was so relaxing and soothing. The views from the porch are breathtaking. You look out over the gorge to see mountains on either side and miles down the river's path. We hiked one day on the Green River and enjoyed nature's beauty. One evening the weather cooled enough to allow us to have a fire in the pit next to the cabin. Deer and wild turkey were seen as we walked the secluded grounds of the cabin. It was an extremely relaxing weekend and one we would like to repeat.

Our family decided to get away for a few days and chose the BlackBerry! Words can not describe what a wonderful time we shared with one another. We knew we were in for a special time when we drove up the driveway-up, up, and up! You can not even see another property! One we arrived at the cabin we were thrilled to find everything we needed for our family. The loft has a bunkbed and a queen bed and plenty of games and videos for the kids to use. We spent most of our time outside- we cooked s'mores and made a huge fire in the fire pit. We relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful evening. We also took a quick drive to go fishing. We met some locals that said the fish liked corn! Who knew! The next day we came back with corn and caught lots and lots of fish!(we didn't keep them) I have saved the best for last- THE VIEW! I have never seen a prettier view. It literally changed by the hour! We felt really blessed to experience the sights and sounds of this lovely mountain home. It is a perfect place to get away from it all. We had a wonderful time and it was a pleasure to watch our children experience nature in it finest form! We will return for another visit.

We've been renting cabins in the NC mountains for years but this cabin exceeds all others for its view and seclusion. The driveway makes for a breathtaking hike, the best part being the creek at the beginning. Your home is so clean and peaceful. Our 2 young boys had all the room they needed to run and play and the toys you provide there were an extra bonus for them. Thank you for sharing your magnificent spot in the woods with us.

We returned from a vacation in NC last week and spent the weekend in the cabin. The cabin was clean and spacious. The mountain views were spectacular. You could hear the Green River from the front porch. Lucky for us the blackberries were in season. They were delicious!

We just returned home with lots of memories from our stay! The view is fabulous and the peaceful seclusion even better. We enjoyed the wild turkeys and spent our days on the Green River. This cabin is an awesome location for nearby kayaking and tubing. We did a guided kayaking trip on the Upper Green River through Green River Adventures. And we tubed three days in a row on the Lower Green. There are tubing outfitters along the lower portion of the river near the house. We loved Saluda...ate at the Purple Onion and Green River Barbeque (our favorite). You feel like you're stepping back into time. Saluda is quaint and not over developed. We drove through Hendersonville which had lots of shopping and restaurants and went to Chimney Rock Park (ate at Genny's which was great along the banks of the Rocky Broad River). All in all...I would highly recommend it!

What a delightful place to spend time in the NC mountains! The cabin is perfect and the location is simply ideal. We enjoyed the little town of Saluda in the mornings. . .and spent long, lazy afternoons and evenings at the cabin. The porch swing looking out over the valley is a wonderful place to spend time looking, reading, or snoozing! We'll definitely be back!

My family and I loved the cabin and view. The first day we saw 15 turkey hens graze by, ignoring us. The kids love the loft, and the wife and I like the porch. I had my own books, but enjoyed scanning a number of those on the shelves.
We'll be looking for an opportunity to return.

What a total surprise. We arrived at The Blackberry after dark and assumed we were totally surrounded by woods. We woke up the following morning, opened the curtains and were astonished at the marvelous view. The cabin was well equiped with everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. It was spotless and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a weiner roast in the firepit with the four children we brought along! We will be back!

We absolutely loved our week at your cabin! The place was clean, comfortable and we felt like we were right at home when we walked in. Then the VIEW of the mountains was incredible! Never have we seen such a view! AND then to top it off ..... to have the sound of the river below echoing up through the trees was a marvelous sound to compliment the sight. Thank you for allowing us to experience this!!

This is a clean, comfortable and cozy cabin with lots of amenities. It's ideal as a retreat if you want to get away from it all, or as a "base camp" for excursions to Hendersonville, Asheville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure or points in South Carolina like the outlet mall in Gaffney (Gas is cheaper in SC). Don't forget to visit the bakery and various restaurants in Saluda! This is a great place to stay and the view is one of the best around.

My wife and I rented this cabin to celebrate our first anniversary. It could not have been more perfect. The view is amazing--we spent more time staring off the deck at the mountains across from the cabin than anything else. The cabin is cozy, with plenty of room for an entire family or a group of people. The location is great--a two minute drive (or 15 minute walk) down the mountain leads you to the Green River where you can tube/kayak. There is also a nice hiking trail that follows the river. Only a five minute drive from Main Street Saluda where you can listen to live music on the weekends or eat at the local restaurants. If you get a chance, you should try Green River Barbeque--it is very good. My wife and I both work very hard at our jobs, and this was a perfect escape--relaxing and romantic.

This is a gorgeous cabin, very private and peaceful. It is like new and beautifully decorated. The porch and view are so fabulous you hardly want to go anywhere. The loft for kids is also a big plus. Saluda is very charming with great shops and restaraunts. The Green River is also great fun for tubing and both are very short drives--if you can get yourself off the front porch! Hope to return in the future.

David, Thanks again for letting us rent the house. We had the most wonderful time. The house was even better than we expected. We originally thought that we wanted to be in town more. Boy were we wrong!! Your view is wonderful and on Saturday, after tubing, there was a huge storm complete with hail that we watched from the porch. You have the best electronic darts too. Unfortunately, we brought along the tiger woods of darts, my brother in law, and he won every game all weekend long. Our group will definitely be back in the fall. I mentioned the house to my parents, and they are interested in renting it this fall too. So hopefully dan and I will be back twice before the end of the year. Thank you so much, Jenny
