Gina and James:
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. The location was great along with the peace and quiet we were seeking on our vacation. We took advantage of the proximity to the river and the walking trail along the river – it is a real plus for your location.
We hope to return for a future visit.

| this house looks like one in the fairly tale it has wonderful environments; lakiside, quiet forest, wonderful twilight... you can see pretty deer families hanging around the house. duluth cabin has 5 rooms, every each room has differnt concept. i like the most small room. it so cute, exotic. but the largest master bed room is best place for kid's play ground. because it so huge. ^^ the house es clean and convinient kitchen. we love this cabin , and will miss it. thank yopu gina. |

Gina and James - Had a great weekend in Duluth - actually went skiing the third day at the legendary Mount Du Lac! This was the best day - it turned out to be a better place for young skiers - absolutely no lines, no crowds, and a feeling of "mastery" for them as they were more able to handle the hill with confidence. My oldest son among 4 sons ages 6 to 11 said "can we do this again next year?" So it was a big hit. We appreciate the opportunity to use your place. John and Terri Penshorn

We just stayed in the Duluth cabin for a ski weekend at Spirit Mountain. When we arrived it was 15 below outside, but the cabin warmed up quickly due to the extensive heating available (electric baseboards in every room, gas fireplace in living room, and forced air furnace).
The cabin slept the 10 of us with ease and comfort and could have handled even more, as several beds went unused. It is a large place with plenty of gathering room in the kitchen and living area. All of the bedrooms have generous space, but the master suite is absolutely gigantic. The master closet made a great fort for the kids.
It was also a great perk to have access to an oversized garage during those cold Minnesota nights to park the cars and store our ski equipment.
On Friday night, we ventured a few miles south on Hwy 23 to Fond du Lac and found the "Wabego" bar and restaurant (not sure of the name). Great Up North place with very friendly staff that served some pretty decent fare at a reasonable price.
Although the base parking lot of Spirit Mountain is only 7.5 miles from the cabin (which is a great option if you have your passes and own your equipment) it can be confusing to get to the chalet at the peak of the ski area. Mapquest routed us incorrectly, and had us on some back roads that are not thru streets to the summit. You have to go around the base of the ski area, under I-35, and meander you're way west to the frontage road off of I-35.
Overall, the Duluth Cabin is a great place to stay for groups of 8 to 12 looking to ski at Spirit Mountain. It sure beats sleeping cramped 4 to a room in a motel/hotel with a microwave and not much else. Just make sure you know how to get to and from the ski area and don't rely on mapquest. |

Just returned from our week at the "cabin" and loved it! Gina and James are very responsive to emails, etc., the house is very spacious, private, and close to all the places we wanted to go. This was a vacation with my family, my sister and her family, and our mother. The brood included 5 daughters, 4 of them teenagers. The teenagers turned the massive master suite into their own private "hotel" - and loved it. We adults loved relaxing in the large living room in the evening while the kids were upstairs "raising the roof"! We have been doing family vacations like this for over a dozen years and at some point during our stay everyone commented that this had been the best vacation ever, and the Duluth Cabin had a lot to do with that! For a group out size, we loved and needed all the space the home offers. 3 bathrooms was a big plus. We enjoyed grilling on the deck, saw the neighborhood deer roaming around in front, and even met and visited with some of the neighbors. We are already planning our trip next Summer to the Duluth Cabin. Thanks for everything!! |

Your cabin was a great place to go to get away from home and the city. My husband and I love the city, but we also enjoy going to the country. We went to wonderful places nearby the cabin, such as Lake Superior. The cabin we stayed at was at a great location in Duluth, thank you Gina and James!

| We thought the cabin was very spacious and well kept. It could have been better decorated to make it more cozy and comfy. It was beautiful to look out on the deck but it would have been nice if there were more furniture out there. The grill ignitor on the grill did not work, so I had to manually start it up with a lighter, once it started, it was hard to control the temp gauge and only one the right side of the grill worked well. The bed was too hard for us. But it's probably because we have a very nice bed at home. :) Overall we had a positive experience. |

Homeowner Response:
Thanks for the comment. We have more outdoor furniture now and we just replaced the grill with a brand new gas grill. All four beds are high quality brand new from either Sealy or Simmons but we prepared extra pads for people who need more comfort. We are putting every effort to make Duluthcabin more comfortable place for everyone.
