| Great place. Myself, hubby and our 3-year old daughter stayed for a week in the cabin at the end of August 08. It was clean, furnished with everything we could possibly need, including lots of board games/puzzles and in a quiet, peaceful location. We would definitely visit again.....highly recommend. |

| It started out with just my wife and I, then our friends and their kids and two friends of the kids! 9 in all, in a two bedroom cabin. The McDonalds were VERY accomodating. Our stay, from July 22nd to the 28th was a very great experience. The cabin was very comfortable for the two of us, even for 4. But we did get by with all, as well, and we all did well in having a great time and not stepping over each one. The nights were very comfortable for sleeping. Sitting on the docks watching the sun sets every night, or kayaking with the loons was a treat! The pond ( A lake anywhere else) was inviting to swim, canoe, kayak, and fish. The loons sang to us, and were very photographic. A Bald eagle, or two, one mature, the other immature, possibly an Ospry also. You MUST attempt to climb Katahdin, but get in shape for it, and do NOT be intimidated by the looks of it, but respect it as well. TAKE SUNSCREEN, even if it is cloudy on top! Look for moose on the Golden Highway, just outside of Baxter Park. Baxter Park is great for hikes even if the peak is not your destination. I recommend grassy pond for some great views. I highly recommend This cabin for anyone. I will return again, I know! Ok, final words of advice... this cabin is a must! Bring sun screen for the climb up Katahdin. Try the Golden highway for a moose hunt, first, before trying a contract service, but there is a wonderful place in Millinocket, run by Vicky(?)... a Photo place/ moose tour guide, she will get you a moose, and even fox! |
