Thank you for checking in...everything was just like your photos and just wonderful! The unit was quite clean and we were very pleased. We enjoyed the pineapple wine as well, thank you! I put a long entry in your guest book as well, but suffice it to say, it was very relaxing to come to your condo after our wedding. We spent 6 days there and another 4 in Wailea, it's hard to be home, as beautiful as Colorado is! We hit Napili Beach, Honolua Bay, Blackrock at Ka'anapli, Molikini etc and had SO much fun snorkeling. we brought our own stuff but thought it was so nice for you to have all that equipment for your guests! We especially appreciated the use of your coolers and beach umbrellas, everything your guests could possibly need without having to buy all that stuff for a day at the beach! We also were happy to find recycling in your parking lot, that is great for condo guests...as was the BBQ area, oh, and we swam with a resident turtle! we loved eating on your lanai and the beautiful view. We were sad to leave!
Incidentally, a couple wrote in your guestbook from April and they were also from Littleton, CO. Such a small world! Apparently, they stayed 5 yrs ago for their honeymoon (just like us) and were back again to celebrate their anniversary. Perhaps we could do the same!

After this first experience utilizing VRBO and Margie’s' beautiful piece of heaven in Maui...we are sold! Margie had a beautiful bottle of pineapple wine waiting for us upon our arrival! We celebrated out 15th Anniversary and it was total relaxation! Margie has thought of every possible item you need away from home!!!!You can't ask for a more beautiful setting and location of this property.
Yes, we did have the turtles visit almost every day in the afternoon, and the birds in the morning....
Here are some DO's:
Do take pictures of the sunsets EVERYDAY...I almost missed the most beautiful one on our first night...
Do enjoy doing nothing (sometimes that hard for me)
DO explore the island---we took the Road to Hana and made a stop at the last village before Hana--great shopping and then we stopped 10 miles up at the Arboretum....it was awesome---we also had lunch at Mama's fish house on the way back---nice setting, a bit pricey...
DO have lunch at the Hula Grill at Whalers Village---great sandy beach for lunch and fun shopping....
DO dine at Longhi's--great seafood---we celebrate our anniversary at this spot.
DO try ice cream at Scoops---the coconut pineapple is to die for! But only at Scoops!
DO eat the fresh pineapple--it is the best and has a hint of coconut in it!
DO clean up the sand if you track it in the unit...and DO enjoy this lovely unit!!!
A FEW DON’TS
If you have traveled far---don't eat out the first night--we picked a spot and neither one of us enjoyed it---Go grocery shopping and pick up something to have the first night "at home".
DON'T Stay in the sun too long---
DON’T forget to take your parking stub with you when parking at Whalers Village----you can get it stamped and save yourself $$$$---didn’t know this when we first stopped here

| We agree that this condo has to be the best spot on earth. Where else can you have your own private beach with some of the best snorkeling on Maui. But the best part is the PERFECT view of the sunsets. The turtles who come to nibble on the algae every morning and night were enchanting. We felt we were staying at home -the condo is equipped with everything needed and the decor is beautiful. We loved every minute and can't wait to come back. MAHALO! |

Thank you SO much for allowing us to use your condo last week. We had such a great time and are eager to return very soon! Your condo is quite a treasure and we found everything we needed during our stay- including snorkel gear & beach chairs. It was great being able to walk right out onto the Lanai, sit and enjoy coffee in the morning or head for the water to take a dip. We sat out every night to watch the breathtaking sunsets! We thoroughly appreciated being so close to everything- only minutes from Kaanapali and Lahaina. The location of your place was superb and we felt very at home which was so nice!! We checked out Kaanapali beach which was fantastic for snorkeling but by far the BEST thing we did on Maui was ziplining in Kaanapali. That was a wonderful experience and I would recommend that to anyone visiting the island! We definiately look forward to returning to Maui and using your condo again soon! Thanks again!

Aloha Margie, We just wanted to thank you again for sharing your Maui home with us. We have never had the opportunity to stay right on the water like that. It was so amazingly relaxing! We loved watching the huge Sea Turtles come in to eat every day and watching the sunset every evening. We had a sailboat cross in the setting sun a few nights, which made for beautiful pictures. Not to mention the view of both Lanai and Molokai. The birds were waiting for us to come out for breakfast every morning and Jim had the female Cardinal eating out of his hand. We really had a wonderful time! Your place is quiet and peaceful. Everyone we met there was so friendly. We hope to stay there again sometime soon and will definitely tell all our friends about your hospitality.

condo with us! We were in much need of some rest
and relaxation and the condo was perfect. Hearing
the birds singing, listening to the waves crashing
on shore, seeing the whales and turtles right out of
our lanai was great. And, Oh those beautiful
sunsets each evening. Your condo is so well stocked
all we needed to do was bring our groceries.
While we were on Maui we enjoyed dining at the
Hula Grill at Whalers Village. We took a drive to the
Surfing Goat Dairy and the Lavender farm. Both
great day trips.
This was our third trip to Maui and our first time a
condo. It is so much more relaxing having your own
little place than a hotel room. We will be back!

Our stay was wonderful. The weather cooperated and we fully enjoyed your condo, it's location and the beach. We loved being able to sit in the condo or out on the lanai and hear and see the ocean.
Can’t think of anything you didn’t have for us. We used the chairs, towels and coolers every day and appreciated them very much. It works so great to make breakfast to eat on the lanai and then pack a lunch. We also grilled three nights. We spent the last two days of our vacation at the Sheraton Resort only because we had two free nights through points, but we kept saying we wished we were back at the condo.
Thank you very much for your attention to detail. Maybe we will be able to come back some day. We’d love to.

We had a fantastic vacation and staying in your condo added a great value to it.
We appreciated a fully equipped kitchen, spacious refrigerator, beautiful lanai and all the beach/recreational equipment, and also available parking at any time. We spent most of the daytime on the beaches so the beach items were especially useful, thank you very much for providing them. We had enough supply of paper towels, tissues and towels, and everything was in order.
We quickly figured that restaurants can't really provide any better ocean view and dining atmosphere than your lanai so we saved a lot of money and time by cooking dinners at home. We spent all the mornings and evening on lanai enjoying the beautiful view. We even saw whales for a couple of times.
Everything went smoothly, all the neighbors were nice and quiet.
We had a great time and we will be happy to come to your condo again.

| Maui Margie, WOW! What a fantastic time we had at your condo. Weather was fantastic. Coffee every morning at 630am, sitting out front, watching the turtles feed close to shore!! Boogie boarding so fun! The resort pool is very large, clean, and NOT crowded. The resort grounds were immaculate and flowers beautiful. The grounds keeper was even working on Thanksgiving day! Your condo was very clean and well stocked. Loved being on ground floor, just a few steps to paradise! Highly recommend eating breakfast at The Gazebo at Napili Resort, just a short drive north. The BEST macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup. They serve breakfast all day. All their other food is fantastic as well. MaLa's in Lahaina has excellent food as well, and on the ocean front. Kobe's in Lahaina has great Japanese food and they give 'sunset' deals if you seat before 6pm. For a luau, go to Old Lahaina Luau, they have the best by far. This was our second time there. We will definitely be returning, sooner rather than later. We were not disappointed! Thanks for the wine and for allowing us to stay at your place, The Christensen's |

This was our first trip to Hawaii and the first time I booked reservations with a private party online. Your condo was everything that you described at VRBO and more. We were looking for a quiet place to spend a week relaxing in the sun and surf and you provided just that.
In addition, excellent dining is available within a 5-10 minute drive. Merriman's was definitely worth the trip. A little pricey but not when weighed against the excellent food and service. Also, nobody should be that close to Lahaina without eating at least once at BJ's Chicago Pizzaria... the best pizza I've eaten anywhere!
When we return to Hawaii we will be looking you up for sure!

Noah and I wanted to send a big Thank You for a wonderful week in 705! Your condo is beautiful, and the location can't be beat! I had worried it all sounded too good to be true, but it isn't! Your place was exactly what I was looking for, and I am so happy that I found it. The week away was just what we needed before our baby arrives.
The turtles were out all week, and stayed for hours on our last night there. The weather was lovely, and we really had a great stay. If all goes as planned, we will return at the end of April for a wedding, and would love to stay there again, we'll be in touch.

we just got home today. Your condo and the entire complex was fabulous and my kids had a great time. We were all so excited with the turtles and the snorkeling around the beach area. We also found your unit to be very nicely appointed, organized and perfectly situated with the sand beach steps away but also nice grass with shade. The kids also really enjoyed the ping pong table!

I knew this would be a good place to stay but little did I know it would be a GREAT place to stay.
Your thoughtfulness and attention to detail are amazing. To have spices in the kitchen, a blender for smoothies... I could go on and on.
When you said there was snorkeling out front, I didn't realize that you would have the quantity and quality of fish you do, or the turtles that graze each morning and evening right at the edge of that water - 20 feet from the lanai!
Your condo was clean, beautiful, and every contingency thought of and prepared for. Thank you so much for being there. This place is an 11 on a scale of 10! |

So we ABSOLUTLEY had to come back for our 1 year anniversary; we are definatley going to make this a yearly trip. We stayed 2 more days longer than last year, and it still doesn't seem long enough. | "A month at Margie's" This was our third trip to Maui and found Margie's place to be the best place we have stayed. This condo is as beautiful as the other reviews have said, and it is stocked with almost everything you need and some things that are a lot more than you would ever expect. You really can just bring your clothes. After all was said and done we could have skipped the three whale watching boat rides as we were able to see a lot more from the condo. Turtles and flying fish right outside your door and sunsets to die for. We will certainly return to #705! |

| My husband and I stayed at this condo in the October of 2007. We absolutely loved it! The sunsets are beautiful after a long day of snorkeling with the sea turtles in front of the condo. Anything you could imagine needing is provided at the condo. I would definitely recommend this condo to family and friends and would stay here again if visiting Maui. |

| Hi Margie...your condo was everything we hoped it would be and more. We've stayed at Kuleana before and loved the property, but your condo was the nicest one we've stayed in! It was so clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated, and the location has to be the finest on the Island. When you say "Ocean Front" you really mean it! As nice as the bedroom was, we slept every night on the sofa bed so we could fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. This was a wonderful trip thanks to your spectacular condo. We’re so lucky to have found your wonderful ‘Hale’ on VRBO! We’ve been here 4 weeks and wish we didn’t have to leave. We are already planning our next trip back. For whale watching, the Pacific Whale Foundation can’t be beat. They are knowledgeable and eco-friendly….their cruises are wonderful. We must comment about the pool (heated) and all the new friends we made there. We have checked out many pools here on Maui and we believe that Kuleana has the best one on the island!! We had an absolute wonderful vacation in Maui. The condo was everything and more than we expected. My husband and I were skeptical about renting a condo because we hadn't done it before, but we were very pleased and would love to go back and stay as your guest again. My daughter had the best time feeding the birds. She would feed them in the morning and evening while we were outside relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view. The location couldn't be better and the condo made us feel right at home.
We left a CD for the trip to Hana for your future guests, we read it as a recommendation in the journal and it was great. We also left a small pail and shovel in case another child comes and they can enjoy it as my daughter did. The journal was awesome, it gave some really good tips. I wanted to let you know that we signed the journal and it was on the very last page. You probably already replaced it with a new one, but just wanted to let you know.

Wow. Where to begin...I found this Condo, as a vacation to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. Right off the bat, we could tell all was good. For some reason, after a very short while, you feel the owner's (Margie)personality is built into the decor!
Beautiful place, location is second to none, sunsets that seem impossible.
The snorkeling right out front, beat our day at Honoloa Bay, just up the road. Each day, large Sea Turtles are at the edge of the water, and on two days, we had two LARGE Stingrays, (harmless) in shallow water, cruising along. A rare treat, we were told.
We enjoy nice restaurants, but many nights, chose to have a simple meal on the lanai, rather than leave! Morning coffee outside is the best!
Can't begin to sum it all up in this small space. How 'bout this...if you are going to Maui, STOP LOOKING! You cannot find a nicer, more relaxed, truly clean, well appointed place to stay. The only negative, is Margie owns it instead of us!!
Next time, we will be here for the Whale migration season. An amazing value, a beautiful place, and a genuinely terrific owner. Margie, you are the best.

They say, Location is everything,and here,at Kuleana#705,that is so true!To sit out,on the Lani,in the eve, watching the sunset over the water,or early am,having breakfast and,listening to the surff hit,your own beach area,seeing the Plumeria tree in bloom and smelling it's sweet fragrence,with the swaying palm trees close by,well,THIS IS Paradise!!!
Walk to a nearby farmers market,and buy that wonderful pineapple,or little apple bananas,mangos,etc.travel the georgeous exciting single lane road,with a 3000foot drop,to the ocean below, to Hanna,(as we did)and see green dense jungle,ferns,waterfalls,bamboo forrest,and spectacular views then sample yummy banana bread,and fresh squeezed lemon juice sugared with pure canesugar,at a roadside stand,close to town is just awsome.Check out the black sand beach,and swim in the warm waters there,or tour the area,and enjoy the local,friendly atmosphere.
We took a west side road trip also,and visited the Blow Hole(walk down to it,a bit steep,but doable,and see the surf spew up,through a hole,30feet high) and drove to observe the clear Olivine pools,(and if younger then us,take the trecherous path down,to visit the tide pools,full of critters,or swim in them) Watch for Honolua Bay,on the way. On Maui,you cannot get bord,and speaking of the other kind,grab the Boogie board, and go out every day,in front of Margies place,to enjoy the swells,as the tide comes in.I'ts a real treat,as is every beach there. ( North,south,east or west) You will not be disappointed.Returning to the condo every night,to quiet,sounds of surf,is pure magic.Thanks Margie for a wonderful expierence!! Love Pat and Jere Kinsey |

This is my first time to Maui and it has been unbelievable! It’s so gorgeous here. I Love the atmosphere here, everyone is so friendly.
The condo is fabulous! It has everything. It is fully equipped with DVD’s, toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc.
The fruit especially the pineapple was so fresh and juicy. The flowers are fragrant and colorful Thank you for keeping your condo fully stocked and clean. It has made our stay even better.

This is my 5th time back to Maui and this was as usual – a terrific vacation. This was a slow paced trip with lots of time. We sipping Kona coffee and watching the waves and having a cocktail watching the fantastic sunsets. I must agree that this unit is supremely stocked and the remodel is great. I have never spent a more wonderful vacation than here in your magnificent condo. Sitting here on the Lanai and looking out at the ocean was mesmerizing. The high light of our trip for me was sitting on the lanai and watching a humpback whale come out of the water. My wife Marian said she had not seen me that excited since our wedding night! Snorkeling just outside the lanai down among the corral reef was truly breathtaking!!!! The marine life and the vibrant colors of the fish were spectacular and more than I could ever imagine. If one does not believe there is a God, go snorkeling; it will definitely make you a believer. Thank you again for blessing us both on our vacation and we will cherish the memories the rest of our lives. I could not have thought of a better way to spend our 10th anniversary than here in your home in Maui.

Margie, we want to thank you for sharing your condo with us for the past week. It was perfect, exactly what we were looking for.
It was our first trip to Hawaii, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was an awesome week, we enjoyed it tremendously. Your condo is in the ideal place and setting. Sitting on the lanai and then just a few short steps across the lawn to the shore line. Watching the sun set in the evenings from the bbq grills or the lanai. It's PERFECT!
Totally relaxing. The minute we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision. I immediately went into "Hawaii Time" and stayed that way the entire week. No stress, no problems and no telephone ringing. We snorkeled right off the condo, it was really pretty good. Lots of fish near the rocks and even a couple of turtles in the evenings up near the ladder by the bbq grills.
All in all, it was AWESOME! Thanks again and we expect to return next year.

We had a wonderful stay. I thought "sleeping" would be one of my highlights - the photo of the bed was so inviting, but I have to say the showers were awesome. What a showerhead! And so much room - at home I can barely turn around without bumping the wall.
The weather was quite windy, with showers and a couple of cloudy days, but that meant that the pool was empty much of the time. I'm so glad I checked the temperature and realized it was a heated pool. Two evenings I had the entire pool area to myself - what a luxury. The binoculars were a bonus. I had planned on going on a whale watching cruise but after seeing the catamarans bobbing up and down between the whitecaps I decided to watch the whales with your binoculars instead of taking the cruise. A much better idea considering the wind and rain! My small binoculars would never have done the trick.
We shopped up the street and down the street as well as going into Lahaina two evenings -you're so centrally located. We ate at Pacific O Saturday-they have live jazz and the meal was lovely, but I enjoyed the chili plate from Mama's Ribs and Rotisserie at the Napili shopping center just as much. I eat very few plate lunchs-I'm rather picky about my meat, but the reviews were so good I decided to give it a try. It was exactly the way "Hawaiian style" chili should be.
Your home was such a wonderful place to stay; everything that we could have wanted was there. We both enjoyed our stay so much we will be thinking about coming back again next year.

We usually go explore and spend the day at other beaches, but with your condo we only went up to Napili one day because we had no reason to leave the condo! The view is incredible and the little beach right in front of the condo was pretty much a private beach for us. Only a few people came down to use it. Your recent remodel made everything look so nice! We would love to stay at your condo next year also! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and wanted to thank you for letting us experience your little slice of heaven! Thanks for everything! We will be in touch!

| My family and myself stayed at Kuleana during the summer of 2006. We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed our family vacation. My wife and myself enjoyed the romantic qualities of Maui and our children loved the ocean and some of the island activities. We stayed at two different condominiums while there. The first condo was very nice and we loved the time spent there. It was about a five minute drive to the beach. It was a larger and more expensive condominium than Kuleana 705. As a whole, my wife, my self and our children all loved Kuleana better because of the location. The condo itself was very nice, but the 4 second walk to the beach was hard to beat. The beach was secluded so that we had a beachfront location that was romantic and served as a great spot for the kids to boogieboard, snorkel and swim. Each evening was spent watching the sun set over the beautiful ocean. Hearing the waves crash on the beach is something you just can't get everywhere. This was truly a great location that we thoroughly enjoyed. On another note, we found many of the local Hawaiian's to be rude, offensive and somewhat racist. I understand that the locals are probably tired of the tourists, but the economy will tank if they keep up this very offensive attitude toward tourism which is their bread and butter. I would advise all tourists who are mistreated to let the Hawaiian tourist bureau know so that there can be a change. Ultimately, you can just stay at the Kuleana condo and not go anywhere. This alone would be a wonderful vacation. Good luck and check out this condo. You won't be disappointed. |

We want to thank you for the wonderful time we had at your beautiful condo in Maui. You have furnished your condo with all the comforts , cooking utensils and beach necessities so all we needed was food and something to drink. Our children stayed in a unit next door and didn't want to leave.
We loved staying at the condo during the day and watching the fish and turtles swim in the clear water - we even saw a small ray close to shore. One night when we came home from dinner it was lightly drizzling and a full moon when we looked out the sliding door and saw a moonbow. We couldn't believe our eyes. A rainbow at night out over the ocean. What a sight!
We spent hours watching the surfers, birds and geckos from the patio area without having to leave the condo.
We did go out to eat and found very good Ono and Mahi Mahi at the Lahaina Fish Company. Kimo's wasn't bad either but not as good as Lahaina Fish Company. BJ's (located upstairs in downtown Lahaina) has great food no matter what you order, but we had salad and pizza (Chicago Pizza style). They also have live entertainment nightly which was very good. We went to Paradise Burgers and spent $86 for four burgers and four drinks that weren't very good. We were sorry we went there and heard that John's Burgers just down the road from the condo in Kaanapali has the best burgers around (according to the locals anyway). We never made it there. We made our own at the condo and they were yummy!
I also needed to get my nails done and found a great salon just up the road towards Napili, called Island Style. Lisa took care of my nails and did a great job. I watched the hairdressers while I was there and they did great hair cuts and colors in case anyone needs a quick fix.
Margie, you are the best. Thank you for sharing your condo with us. We had a memorable trip and plan on returning.

We didn't do much but relax. We had to cancel our planned trip over the Christmas-New year time because of my (Lopey) need for surgery. Colon cancer won't wait for a convenient time for removal. We are so greatful that your place was available at this time. It was just what we needed - a lovely view - walking right out to the ocean. We did go on a Pacific Whale Foundation whale trip as usual - very worthwhile. We ate at our favorite places. After 30 some trips, we know what we like best! Now I am rested and ready to go home and start chemo treatments. Thanks for a wonderful break.

Frank and I loved every part of the condo especially the beautiful views. We have spent six days in beautiful Maui. What a wonderful experience expecially on our honeymoon! We did so much here, no time for rest, We went to Hana, feast of LeLe, bike, run, swimming at the falls. We hiked to IAO, went shopping, ate at great restaruants (MaMa's Fish House, Kimos, Cheseburger Paradise. We snorkeled at Napali shores. My faviorite part was eating every morning on the Lanai. We will definitely come back here. Thank you for your outstanding accomodations.

Imagine two almost "Octogenarians" celebrating their first year anniversary. That's right, we were married in Kaui last year and of course must return to Hawaii every year we have left - to celebrate our life together. Thanks to Joe's son-in-law Kyle and his friend Margie for arranging for us to be here in this beautiful restful spot. We have enjoyed the great pool, the ocean waves - so close and the really perfect weather. The sunsets were just wonderful. We did have a perfect dinner at the Whaler's Village. The local Deli was so good. Hate to leave but hope to return next year.

James and I wanted to say "Thank You" for the rental of your condo, Unit 705. It truly worked out to be more than we had hoped it would be. We opened the glass slider door early in the morning when we'd awaken and keep it open the whole time we were in the condo so we could enjoy the sound of the ocean. Truly relaxing! Several days we did nothing but walk down to the farmers market and get fresh pinapple, grapes, strawberrys and apples, make MaiTai's and Margaritas. We set up the lounge chairs on the lawn by the ocean and sat and read our books all day, eating fruit, having great drinks and relaxing. Truly one of our best vacations for just relaxing. Thanks for your hospitality,

Stayed at the condo last year, previous to the redecorating. It was great last year, so I can only imagine what it is like now (although by the pictures it looks--if possible--more comfortable than it was last year.) One thing I really liked about the location was that nearby is the Honokowai okazuya and deli--great food. Also close "ish" is The Bakery in Lahaina--had some good bread and other breakfast items.
This is all so far ignoring the space itself...very comfortable, relaxing. Open the door to the lanai, and you have some of the best sunset views I have ever seen--the pic on the website is CLOSE to the truth, but I found it more emotionally satisfying in person--so to speak.
As I write this, I am actually planning another trip to Hawaii (this time Oahu) and am beginning to regret not going back to Maui...But I will return... |

| This was the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time. The condo couldn't be in a more perfect spot, just a few feet from the beach. It was quiet and peaceful but still close to the action. We did some sight seeing the first couple of days and just stayed at the condo, soaking up the sun, resting and reading. It was great! |

I spent nine days at this condo and was so very pleased with the settings and the unbelievable location its in. Your own private beach and lagoon, steps away,all the hot spots for activities are just minutes away. Its a paradise for sure when your on Maui and in the perfect location. I did a lot of things around the Island, yet my favorite thing to do was to hang out at the condo and enjoy all the emenities, didn't really have to go anywhere its so relaxing at your own private condo Island Kuleana. Great time for sure!!

The ocean is right out the patio door, the views are the best we've ever had (surfers, whales breaching, cruise ships, and fantastic sunsets). We've stayed many places on the islands. This condo has an owner who truly cares about your experience and has gone all out to ensure that your stay is fabulous. The views and proximity to the ocean can't be beat! Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful island that is Maui. |
