We throughly enjoyed our spring break stay at this cozy cabin on a llama ranch. The accomodations were just right for our family of three. We took terrific day trips to ski, visit the Great Sand Dunes and soak in the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. It was so nice to have our home away from home to come back to in the evening.

Great place to stay - newly built cabin in beautiful area. Its a one bedroom with 2 baths, and a pullout couch also. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to cook in (eg lots of pots, pans, utensils, etc.) It was convenient to skiing at Monarch, as well as lots of backcountry and snow shoeing spots. The owners have lots of DVDs to borrow, although there is no TV reception - which is great if you really want to "get away." We would definitely return - perhaps in the summer to do some river rafting??

An idyllic cabin in an idyllic place. Comfortable bed, deluxe shower, views from every window, serviceable kitchen, everything perfect for shedding life stress. And for those not yet altitude acclimated, the road by the cabin meanders gently up through beautiful Aspen & Pine Forests.

My husband John and I were delighted by our stay at Spruce Ridge Guest Cabin! As other guests have mentioned, it is a well-appointed and beautifully excecuted retreat with wonderful amenities. The location is just lovely and the consideration of the owners is well appreciated. We slept so well in the very comfortable bed that morning came to welcome a lovely breakfast and (oops) another three hour nap. We must have needed this relaxing retreat and know others will find this to be a well earned respite convenient to the most delightful town of Salida. Antiquing, dining at the Laughing Ladies and Patio Pancake Place- ah. I am glum at home. But hopefully we will soon return. Many thanks, Dan!

Our 3-night cabin stay at Spruce Ridge Llamas was AWESOME! The cabin was beautiful, very spacious (huge bedroom!), well decorated, and with every amenity imaginable. Surrounded by forest, there was a creek just down the hill from the back deck, with brook trout available for fishing. All we had to take was our own food, since all cooking and eating supplies were included, right down to the gas grill on the living-room deck. The owner, Dan, took us on a personal half-day llama trek (extra fee) in the forest - and although it was at 9,000', and I (the wife) am nowhere near "athletic", it was very enjoyable, and not difficult at all. We and our 12-year old son fell in love with the llamas, and were able to visit them often in their corral just up the hill, and feed them grass. I definitely rate Spruce Ridge Llamas as a wonderful 5-star vacation experience - and we have already booked our stay for next summer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spruce Ridge Cabin. Dan and Lillie took care of every detail to make the cabin comfortable and relaxing. It's very quiet and the bird/creek song is just enchanting. Dan is a great resource for information on local hiking/activities and enjoys sharing his knowledge! If we're ever in the area again, Spruce Ridge Cabin will be our first choice for accomodations. What a great cabin! Every detail was taken care of. Three decks to view the stream below and mountains were wonderful. We did not expect the washer and dryer, two stereos, DVD player and many other details that made a difference. Easy access to hwy 50 and half way between Ski Monarch and Salida. We will be back. |
