| In Sept 2007, I was host to two Russians, Jeanna and Dmitri, whom I knew would enjoy seeing an authentic piece of ranching Texas. Plus it gave them time to relax and get over the jet lag before a frantic week of business. With our interpreter, we rented both houses and had a terrific stay. Toured the ranch, played with the donkeys, ate and drank, and even did a little fishing. But mostly we just relaxed. John and Claire are both friends of mine, but I know they treat all their guests the same - as if you were their great friends who just hadn't been around for awhile. Jeanna tells me how fond she is of John (and Claire) almost every time we talk. -- Highly recommended. |

Our stay was during a glorious, wildflower laden
spring week. We had a wonderful time. The
accomodations are comfortable and filled with folk art.
The ranch is an inspiration of ecofriendly practice. And
we loved the hosts and their donkeys. |

Dear Claire,
To see what can be done with land when it receives care is always inspiring. You have made a model that I hope your neighbors will follow. Thank you for a wonderful weekend which was full of surprises. The house is perfect with a ranch setting and atmosphere that encourages relaxation. It was easy to feel at home there. We love Goliad, with its spectacular courthouse, beautiful Missions, and a town that has given new life to its old buildings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home and town with us on our visit. |
