| Gull Cottage is the most charming VRBO we have ever stayed in. The bed is great and in good weather I am sure the patio would be delightful. It had every thing we needed for our 4 day stay. The location is excellent with lots of good dining within walking distance. |

May husband and I are 1st time parents and brought our 3 mo. old son.....his 1st overnight trip. Although he still wakes up quite a bit at night, still we had an enjoyable weekend getaway. We learned a little about vacationing with a baby!

| Thanks so much for having us. What a cute and comfortable place to stay!!! My sister-in-law and I were in P.C. for a wedding and it was the BEST alternative to a hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and the Gull Cottage had all the conveniences of home!! I loved all the plants and surrounding yard. For those of you who enjoy a good walk, it's centrally located and you can easily walk to the beach or Cannery Row (the walk back will be the challenge as it's mostly uphill). There a few good restaurants and cafes within walking distance too. Can't wait to make a return visit. |

| Gull house was a perfect weekend retreat for me and my girlfriend. The house was cozy, with great areas to sit, chat and lounge in the kitchen and on the outside patio. Location is great, a nice walk down to Cannery row, with an easy cab ride back. The aquarium tix were a great bonus! we may not have otherwise gone, and we were both happy we did! |

: We had a lovely stay in this very quaint cottage! It is close to everything including some excellent restaurants. We were glad to enjoy breakfast at "home" and then dine out for the rest of the day. Carol was great about everything and we were glad to meet her and her family before our stay. We did a whale watching tour, saw about a million sea lions and seals, even got to see several otters. We did get to the aquarium...take advantage of the free passes. If we do make it back to Monterey, this is definitely where we will stay.

My Fiance and I had a lovely time at the cottage. It
was such a great location. I can't believe how close
it is to Cannery Row without feeling like it.
Truly, the place had all the amenities one would
need for a mini visit. We do look forward to coming
back soon!!! Above all, I believe the owners really
have a lot of pride and love for Gull Cottage so that

| What a cute and funky (charming funky) little cottage! Very Quiet in a charming garden setting. Great location: easy to get to, just off one of the main thoroughfares, 5 minutes from the aquarium. A very pleasant place to stay for a romantic get-away. Check out the Fishwife restaurant: excellent gourmet food in a congenial family restaurant with very below-market prices. |

| What a FABULOUS find! My two sisters and I rented this cottage for a birthday get-away and we were more than pleased with all the amenities, atmosphere and hospitality of the hosts, who happened to be in town that weekend. The distance to sightseeing places, the great amenities such as coffees, teas, creamers, and such were amazing. I want to bring my family of four back here for sure! |

My newlywed wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon here in December - and Gull Cottage was wonderful. It has an intimate and cosy feeling - and despite the fact that it's right in Monterey, feels quite private and secluded.
The fireplace was much appreciated, as was the bathtub with the bubble jets. I would heartily recommend Gull Cottage to anyone hoping to enjoy the charms of Monterey by day, but spend a few romantic evenings in. |

What a wonderful place you two have created here at Gull Cottage-
The charm of the old and yet all the conveniences to make it
comfortable.
We came to bike/race/tour at the Sea Otter Classic and were so excited to get back to the charm and calmness of the cottage each evening.
It was fantastic to have such great restaurants in the fairly close distance from this little cottage.
We loved Fifi's and Vito's Old Italien which we ate
at twice.
And if you care to prepare some thing at the cottage - Safeway and Trader Joes are available in a reasonable driving distance.
We will be back!

| The Gull Cottage was cozy, quaint, and the perfect place to start our 5-day trip along the CA coast! We loved it. Great recommendations from friendly locals included: Passion Fish, FishWife, and Peppers. Also highly rec. renting bikes from Spanish Bay just inside 17-mile drive and biking it. The coffee, snacks, and Aquarium tix were added bonuses. We highly recommend Gull Cottage!! |

We came back for another stay. This time we spent 5 days and enjoyed every single day. The cottage is centrally located. We went everywhere between Santa Cruz and Big Sur and looked forward to returning to this warm and cozy cottage every night. We even preferred to eat in with take-out foods rather than dine at the restaurants.
It truly is a comfortable home away from home.
We look forward to another stay in this wonderful retreat.

| The cottage is everything described in the write up and more! Provided the perfect spot for our honeymoon. If we ever get to visit Monterey again, we will CERTAINLY stay here. I'm so glad we chose not to get a hotel! I would recommend it highly to any couple looking for a cozy romantic spot to come "home" to after soaking in the incredible coastal scenery, checking out the shops, or exploring Big Sur or the Aquarium all day. (We even took a day trip to San Francisco, but it was a lot of driving and traffic.) |

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Gull Cottage. My husband and I were there four nights, and only wish it could have been more. The cottage is cute. It's small, but perfectly comfortable for a couple, and an efficient use of space. We enjoyed having coffee or a glass of wine out on the patio, which is quite private.
There is a wonderful restaurant within walking distance, "Taste." We ate there two nights in a row! Great to be able to walk to dinner, and back "home" to the cottage. We also enjoyed occasionally watching TV (it has cable) and a DVD. But most of all, we enjoyed the area. It's very near Carmel, and the beach, and Monterey Bay Aquarium. The whirlpool bath is a great addition, and a wonderful soak at night! We highly recommend Gull Cottage, for anyone looking fro a "home away from home." |

I have stayed in many VRBOs and this has definitely been one of my favorites. It is everything I imagined a cottage would be - cozy, warm, comfortable, clean, wonderful amenities, quiet, sanctuary-like,...
I stayed here by myself for 3 days just to get away. It was so perfect for this. I only left the cottage a couple of times for groceries. There's a Safeway and Trader Joes right down the road plus a Whole Foods within a short driving distance as well as several great restaurants.
The fireplace and jetted tub worked perfectly and added such a great sanctuary touch to this wonderful little haven. I enjoyed a fire and a soak everyday along with watching a few DVDs, reading a couple books, sleeping in the ultra cozy bed, and walking around the peaceful neighborhood.
The owner also provides several great amenities such as Crabtree & Evelyn bath products, water in the fridge, creamer and Starbucks coffee, nuts and M&Ms,...
I will definitely be staying here again. |

What a darling cottage! It is located close to many sites and great restaurants. It was great to walk through the garden to the cottage. The flowers are beautiful. The sitting area was so quaint. It was great to sit out there and listen to the birds sing while sipping my coffee in the mornings.
The bed is so comfortable. We slept like babes. The TV/DVD players provided some entertainment. It was great having the availability of both the wireless and the Ethernet cable for our laptop.
Our 6 year old son loved the loft above our bed. He had all his toys and stuffed animal friends up there with him. Every evening, he enjoyed watching Daddy make a small fire in the fireplace insert. They just started cub scouts, so it was a great learning experience.
The photo album along with a copy of the oral history of the house and the guest cottage was intriguing. No wonder this little cottage feels so warm and inviting as soon as we entered it. It truly has a cozy comfortable atmosphere about it.
Little details such as Starbucks coffee beans and variety of teas added to the charm of this retreat. We look forward to returning again and again to this cozy home away from home.

The bath extras from Crabtree & Evelyn were really a great touch. Parking worked out just fine and we are planning to stay at the Gull Cottage again the next time we need to visit our family in Monterey. | The Gull Cottage was the perfect compliment to our incredible stay in the Monterey area. It was like getting a glimpse of what life would be like to be local. It is so centrally located and easily accessible. We actually walked through Pacific Grove to the waterfront trail leading to Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. After all that exercise we needed to fuel up with some of the most splendid french cuisine at FiFi's that was only steps away from the cottage. With all of our adventures and exploring it was so nice to come "home" to our lil cottage and curl up by the fire and relax in our private cozy haven--or take a soak in the awesome jacuzzi tub. The beautiful private patio gardens and grounds truly are a sanctuary. I couldn't get over that you could see the ocean from just about any vantage point when walking from the cottage into town, being at the top of Forest Hill. The location is absolutley perfect for exploring Carmel,Pebble Beach, Monterey and Big Sur. The special touches in the cottage are partcularly exquisite too--Crabtree and Evelyn powders, bubble bath and body cremes--you are truly in the lap of luxury when staying at the Gull! Don't pass up the opportunity to experience this gem of lodging when visiting this area :o) It made our 13th anniverary that much more memorable!! |

| We have stayed in Monterey many, many times but never enjoyed our lodging as much as this darling little hideaway. It is right off a fairly busy street, making it easy to find, but surprisingly quiet and private. The garden is spectacular and separates you from the main house very well. The kitchen is complete, the bed very comfortable and the deep Japanese style whirpool tub/shower is very nice. Trader Joe's is just a 10 minute walk away, as are many very good small, locally owned restaurants and bakeries. We can't wait to return! |
