We loved the cabin and will stay again next year. Far enough from Black Mt. to be secluded but relatively easy to get back to town. In perfect condition, with all amenities (including DSL) and very clean. Nice owners!

My wife and I were looking for some much needed peace and relaxation and we were not disappointed with this cabin. The cabin was great, very cozy, and well equipped with everything we needed. From the back deck we enjoyed the sounds of the many birds chirping and the rustling of the colorful fallen leaves in the breeze. Though the cabin is located away from the city life, many attractions and great restaurants are just a few miles away. We will be back to visit this great cabin and its fine host again soon. Thanks!

My husband and I were looking for a quiet fall get-a-way and found it at High Rock. The cabin was so cozy and clean. The Tanners were wonderful host. This was our first visit to Black Mountain,,,, boy were we impressed. My husband & I would love to relocate and / or vacation more often. Excellent family stay-- we hope to take a summer week next year with our son. Thanks Mary Beth & Buck!!

The cabin is quaint, clean and cozy, perfect for a couple getting away for a weekend. The new back deck is divine; it's a lovely place to settle in with a good book and a cup of coffee, listening to the wildlife scurry through the woods.
We took a nice hike through the neighborhood and discovered some lovely vistas. Black Mountain (the town) is charming. Try eating at the Black Mountain Bistro for amazing salads and sandwiches; check out the local coffee shop - The Dripolator - for an excellent latte and dessert.
We will definitely rent from Mary Beth and Buck again. The cabin is well-furnished and comfortable. |

My family spent two nights in the cabin during May '08 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was the perfect retreat in the woods that we needed to "get it away from it all" for a weekend. We loved the guest guidebook in the cabin that Buck & Mary Beth had prepared, and used it to check out some of the local sites and restaurants in Black Mountain and Montreat. Our three-year-old son loved playing on the fort at Buck and Mary Beth's home, as well as on the creek just down from the house. We have recommended the cabin to lots of our friends and would love to return to the cabin for another stay ourselves.

What a great location! My mom and I had a mother/daughter weekend last fall and had a great time exploring the Blue Ridge Pkwy, Black Mtn, and Asheville. Coming home each night to this cozy, very clean cabin was such a treat. Thanks!!

Our daughter, who lives in Jacksonville, FL & her dog Katy joined us for wonderful wknd at this great cabin. The cabin was very clean & cozy. The kitchen was very well equipped. Our only regret was that we didn't get to spend more time actually at the cabin. It was a great wknd. Hope next time we can stay longer.

My family and I stayed at High Rock Cabin Oct. of 2006 and had a wonderful time. The cabin is clean and nicely furnished, and in a beautiful setting. The Bucks' are wonderful hosts as well. A+ on this one!

We had a great stay at your incredibly clean cabin. We loved the setting deep in the woods. The night sky was full of stars which we are never able to spot at home. Thanks for having us.

Wonderful lil cabin. Great for 2 people + dog. Loved our evening walks in the quiet and pitch blackness. Great being on the mtn (~3000ft)with "civilization" as close a quick jaunt down into the quaint city of Black Mtn. Very much enjoyed the relaxing weekend. Thank you!

My wife and I had a wonderful final pre-baby vacation weekend. Our youngest dog Macey stayed with us and hiked some trails in Montreat with me while my wife puttered around downtown Black Mountain. It was a treat to find a place that allows well behaved dogs! |

We had a great time staying at this cabin. It is very charming and cozy. My girls loved to explore by the creek down the hill and listening to nature sounds at night. We loved being close to the downtown for unique shopping and good local restaurants, but also the change of being up in the mountain in the woods. We will stay longer next time and have some more meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. Great trails nearby to hike--super fun!
