As so many others have commented, this is an exceptional house. We've rented vacation houses in many parts of the US including fantastic red rock views in Sedona AZ and spectacular ocean views on the California coast. Laurel Point tops our list of "must stay" vacation rentals.
The house is very private. Other than nature, seldom is a sound heard. The expansive deck has unlimited views of mountain ranges for miles and miles. The sunrises are just awesome. The layout of the house is perfect. The three bedrooms are forever apart. The kitchen is well-equipped with state-of- the-art appliances and accessories. The vast windows, in addition to providing the excellent views, also bathe the interior in warm light. All-in-all, fantastic. A+!!
The Sprinkel family highly recommends this vacation rental in the mountains of Virginia just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. You will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy!! |

Bill & Mary, What a lovely place you have! The house is open/spacious and every room is beautifully furnished and VERY comfortable. The views from the deck are truly the BEST we've ever seen. Thank you for opening up your wonderful home to us and sharing your piece of paradise. We love Laurel Point and want to return again and again!

Bill and Mary, Your house has got to be one of the best houses listed on VRBO! There are so many wonderful amenities that I truly don't know where to start. I was searching a place to get away from the world to write my second book, and I found it sitting on top of that mountain. If "city" people are searching an escape from the rat race, they need to look no further than your house. Thank goodness I had your directions! To anyone who will be renting this beautiful house, do not try to use a Garmin GPS device, unless your car can take flight. I would still be searching for the house if I had to rely on Ms. Garmin's guidance! The house was beyond what I had imagined from the description. Everything was well appointed and beautiful!!!! Since I was there to write I didn't use the wing with two bedroom suites, pantry big enough to put a bed in and huge laundry room. The room with the double beds in it is so large that the beds look almost twin size. The other bedroom with the mirrored bed complex is sure to appeal to many couples. Both rooms, like the rest of the house are spacious! The great room is exactly that, GREAT! I honestly don't think I have ever seen so many light switches! Thank you for labeling them for the renters. The lighting in this house is wonderful, recessed, spotlighted, soft or bright, take your pick. From this room you feel like you own the world, the 75 mile view lures you to the windows each time you pass through.
I could imagine big families in this room or romance by the fireplace complete with push button remote for the ones who are challenged fire builders, like me. I didn't spend time watching the big TV or the excellent sound system. You have a lot of games, and books of all kinds. I spent most of my time in the beautiful cedar lined office, in that leather chair. Thank you for having such great WIFI! It was fast and stayed online the whole time I was there. The master suite with a sleigh bed, a walk in closet, two different sink vanities, Jacuzzi tub, shower and private toilet area was wonderful. A double deck area that spans the entire length of the house connects all the rooms. No matter where you are, the world is at your feet. I went to bed at night looking at the lights below and woke up to the sun shining over mountain ranges. Each person will find their own feelings about this view, as it is so mesmerizing that it leaves you awe struck and speechless. Thank you for the opportunity to use your house. For anyone wanting a place to write, this is it! It would be a perfect place for a writing group to congregate, families for reunions or a group of friends, especially if they like wineries. I hope that, I can come back one day and spend time relaxing instead of working. Either way, this house with that view, is one of the most beautiful, peaceful places on earth.

Six of us spent the weekend celebrating my younger brother's 50th birthday (I'm the older one, and better looking, too). We took in Floyd on Friday night, visited both wineries, some hiking and did some fine road bicycling along the parkway (hills build character!). The villa is fantastic - we were able to cook some wonderful meals, spend time on the deck wishing we could fly, sat by the fire and even fired up the laptop to do a bit of mountain surfing. Highly recommended place to spend some time - and the owners are terrific as well. We'll be back in July!

My family celebrated our mother's 80th birthday in December at Laurel Point Villa. Everything was absolutely perfect!!!! We had an afternoon cocktail of around 60 people and had more than enough room. The weather was gorgeous and everyone enjoyed the unbelievable view. Needless to say, the party was a huge success!! Three of our families stayed in the villa the entire weekend and loved every minute of it. The house has every single amenity you could ever desire. All I can say is that it was a weekend that no one in my family will ever forget!!!!! You won't be disappointed. |

Homeowner Response:
The house is large enough to handle many people, however, in the future rentals are for accommodations and not large parties. Our intention is to provide a relaxing home-like setting and is not set up for huge groups. Woodberry Inn (540-593-2567) and Chateau Morrisette (540-593-2865) have rooms for large parties as well as provisions for catering.

My family spent the most wonderful Thanksgiving at Laurel Point Villa. It was the perfect location for a family holiday celebration! The home is absolutely beautiful and so spacious. I think what sets this house apart from others is its size and its view. The three bedrooms are large and private, and each has its own bathroom and direct access to the deck. No one had to do with a lesser room. And the view is fantastic. We spent time each night on the deck with mugs of hot chocolate watching the valley light up below, the sky light up above and counting shooting stars. It was like we were the only ones on the mountain. What an experience!
During our three days it seems we mostly ate and enjoyed the peace and quiet. But on Saturday, my mother, sister and I visited Chateau Morrisette and Mabry Mill while my husband and son made the short drive down to NC for some ACC basketball. It's a perfect home for chilling, and yet there is plenty to do in the area if you want to get out and explore.
I'm trying to coordinate schedules for our next trip to Laurel Point. We have traveled a lot and seen a lot of pretty places, but this home truly stands out as a special place. |

From Guest Book: The house was everything you said it was and more. The quiet was so relaxing and the views fantastic. My son and his wife absolutely adored it (and kept saying they sure hope we were coming here again). We had great fun at Oddfellas, the Woodberry Inn and Chateau Morrisette. We also had great meals in the "Laurel Point Kitchen". Thanks so much for sharing your treasure.

From Guest Book: Bill and Mary, your dream house is fantastic. The place has wonderful amenities and rooms that are so spacious and sereene - and so comfortable. We loved the deck and the spectacular view. I'd come back any time of year knowing it would be beautiful. We did the local sites. "Oddfellas" on a Friday night is a must. Thanks so much. We hope to return. (I shall return). P.S. When I first got here I slept dreaming the usual mixed-up, lost, frenetic dreams. After a few serene days and nights I dreamt sweet, happy dreams.

From Guest Book: We have so enjoyed our wonderful visit to this paradise. What a view and what a fantastic house. We have thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would love to see it in spring.
This is life as it was meant to be lived...Quiet contemplation. Beatuy everywhere and bluegrass music. It doesn't get much better. We love your house, your mountain, Patrick County and the Blue Ridge Highway. Thank you for the introduction to this area.

| An extraordinary home with an extraordinary view in an extraordinary setting! My wife and I were fortunate to have stayed at Laurel Point and this mountain paradise exceeds all expectations. This spectacular home is beautifully furnished and very spacious. All comforts are present from the heated floors, the amazing kitchen, the private bathrooms, to the decks that are accessible directly from every bedroom. If you are looking for a true estate retreat, this is the one for you. And just wait until you see the view...unbelievable! |

| I stayed here while visiting from Australia and was spellbound by the magnificent views and the lovely, spacious home itself. As a travel and tourism writer, I get to stay in some fine places around the world, but this one really stays in my mind. Waking up, strolling onto the back deck, breathing the mountain air and viewing the grand scenery in the morning is the most exhilarating and delightful way to start a day. The home itself could easily accommodate a family – I only wish that my wife and two sons (aged 7 and 10) had been along with me on my visit to enjoy it. The Blue Ridge Parkway, with its varied vegetation, is an enchanting part of the world – and one I had not previously known much about. I hope to return! |

Comment Text: Whether you're looking down the mountainside to the valley below...or into the clouds, the vista from the backporch is soothingly spectacular. But while all the prior comments are totally in keeping with this home, my VERY favorite facet of the home is the exquisitely landscaped arboretum like grounds on the front. Paths wind through the lovely grounds; at the front gate a variety of blueberry bushes bear delicious fruit in season; everything together adds up to a pleasure that's sui generis. |

This beautiful and expansive home boasts what is, without a doubt, one of the best views along the Blue Ridge Parkway. And then there's the location! Secluded and peaceful, yet easily accessbile to everything from "Wine Down the Trail" and Floydfest to wineries like Chateau Morrisette and the Parkway. And let's not forget easy access to plenty of hiking trials and leisurely biking routes. It may be a cliche but this place really does have it all! We're hooked and plan on returning every year! |

From Guest Book: What a wonderful place this is to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views! We especially enjoyed the wake-up calls from the indigo Bunting. The only downside to the whole week is having to leave this calm oasis and move down the mountain to heat and hectic lifestyles. We definitely want to return - soon.

| What a beautiful home, view and area! A perfect mountain get-away. You may want to take some oxygen...the view out back will take your breath away. Can't wait to get back during peak leaf week if it's available. |

| This is an amazing, wonderful vacation destination. The drive down on the Blue Ridge Parkway is spectacular. The house has an impressive garden and front entryway. The view from the back deck is so fantastic I have a photo saved as my desktop at work. The house is very spacious and comfortable. There are fresh blueberries in the garden. There is a quaint place for breakfast just a bit south on the BRP. My favorite place to visit is the Chateau Morrissette winery, particularly when they have live music. I would strongly recommend this spot. |
