| We loved our stay at the Olde Stone Cottage! It was completely charming and cozy, and Jan and Bruce made us feel very welcome. They are both so accomplished and interesting, and they were great resources for exploring Lancaster County. We felt completely at home in the cottage, loved the comfy bed, and really wished we could have stayed forever and not gone home to normal life and work! We hope to come back again sometime soon, as there's so much more to explore in the area. Laurie and Scott Keller |

Dear Jan and Bruce - I am leaving here so frustrated and disappointed. For the last two hours I have been trying and trying to fold up this cottage and fit it in my suitcase, to no avail. (It was the darn Jacuzzi that gave me so much trouble!) Sigh!! So I unfolded the house, smoothed out the wrinkles and put it back where you had it, so one day, I could return. With a larger suitcase. Or a steamer trunk. Now I'll go back upstairs and pack more clothes, but fit in some very wonderful memories in all the spaces. And maybe a yummy cookie or two! Thanks for a wonderful time and Bruce for sharing your delightfully skewed view of the world - Marti Hegquist After Marti unfolded the house, I tried to tie it to the back of my SUV and tow it home but the darn thing must be glued to the foundation with 200 year-old wallpaper paste because I couldn't budge it. I suppose I have no choice but to leave it here for others to enjoy. Thanks for providing such a great place to visit! - Caren Schwartz |

My husband, my parents, and myself just spent a 3-night, 4-day weekend at “The Cottage” which is owned and rented by Jan and Bruce of “The Artist’s Inn and Gallery” in Terre Hill, Pa.
It was wonderful to arrive at “The Cottage” and find home baked cookies and scones supplied by Jan; also, milk, eggs, juice, and other surprises in the frig. This is just a beautiful and relaxing place to be. At first, the four of us wondered if we would be bored at the end of four days, Thursday through Sunday. To the contrary, on the day of our departure, we all agreed we could have used another day or two. I took morning walks with my father and wandered the gardens of the cottage and also the Artist’s Inn (which I highly suggest – notice the amazing and odd flowers on the left as you proceed down the walk. They are appropriately named “Love in a Mist”). We grilled, cooked, shopped, played games, enjoyed the magnificent scenery, and had long talks while relaxing on the porch.
Actual statements made by my family members as they describe the weekend include:
“The place was so tranquil, and so relaxing.” – my father, who finds it extremely difficult to relax. He is 82 years old, still works full time, and brought office work with him, which he never touched!
“I noticed that when I was driving somewhere on Monday, my right hand was lying palm open and very relaxed on my lap. My hands are usually clenched around the steering wheel.” – my mother
“This was the best vacation I’ve ever had!” – my husband, who is a teacher of middle school students and very much needed some down time
My statement is “When are we going again?”
Thanks Jan and Bruce!

| Wanting to get away from the Jersey shore again, my wife Janet and I visit the Lancaster area normally twice a year. Through Jans newletters and after our seven stays at the Artists Inn, we have seen the cottage go through the transformation that Jan and Bruce have put so much into. This visit, we were arriving with two other couples. We decided to book the Stone Cottage for this two night stay. Needless to say, our stay at the cottage was just perfect. The warm & cozy feeling you get when you arrive can't be put into words. Jan does such a great job to make you feel comfortable for your stay (the homemade cookies & scones really help too, lol). We will be returning to the Cottage in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Lancaster area. |

This is is my all time favorite. The warm and inviting atmosphere, the delicious smells evening and morning, especially the muffins baking, most importantly how you feel when arriving to the time you leave. Hospitality plus.....don't pass this up. |

| We stayed at the Old Stone Cottage last summer during a family vacation to PA. The cottage is wonderful. Jan and Bruce have thought of everything. We started our stay by snacking on the great homemade scones that were left for us. They had provided snacks and also food to fix for breakfast. The place was decorated beautifully!! They even provided movies for the DVD player. The cottage is the most charming place you could stay in PA! I can't wait to return. BTW- We had two small children with us who had a fun at the park nearby and at Dutch Wonderland. |
