We have seen the Stonehouse build, we past it nearly every summer when we went to Fanore beach and this year we had a three weeks stay in this gorgeous place. We were able to enjoy the house all the better because the weather this summer was not very good! Although we didn't let the rain and gails interfere too much in our activities it was always a treat to know that the Stone house was there for our return. We especially enjoyed long evening meals at the wonderful long table - we even managed to get the turf fire going!- and we spent many hours relaxing with a Guinness or gin/tonic in the seats looking out at the sea view! Dreaming about our next return to this beloved place at the Irish West-coast.

Back from our trip and it could not have been more perfect! As we drove up to the Stone House, we were in awe- the house was bathed in pink light, and surrounding fields were dotted with cows - it looked like a painting.

The Stone House was wonderful - very comfortable and with views even more stunning than the pictures would say. The view from upstairs - whether rain, sunset, moon rise, or dawn - was magical.

Our family of four got to spread out and enjoyed the open spaces and great views from every room. The cozy fire every night was a perfect way to burn off the chill and relax.

The wonder of County Clare cannot be overstated. We took a few trips, but in general, remained in the area - the beaches were beautiful, and the burren itself, ever changing. The house is so near to the Cliffs, we went twice!

Our last night at the house was so clear you could see the 12 points in Conomara, but even in rain and fog, the views were beautiful.

Thanks again for helping to make our first trip to Ireland such a memorable one.

It's hard to find words to describe this wonderful getaway. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe the home and its scenic setting. Tranquil can only touch upon its peacefulness. And the charm of Ireland is right at your doorstep. We were there over a week, and the time flew by. We rented bikes and spent time exploring the backroads of Ireland on car-free roads with miles of rock walls and endless greenery around us. Many an "ah" moment spent there. You can also just sit and read a book and get the same feeling from the gorgeous views--whether lounging in the bedroom or sitting in the large open living space. The house has everything one could possibly need for luxurious living. A true delight!

This is my first trip to Ireland. It was the perfect home away from home. It's great for writing my novel and telecommuting. I would recommend it for bird watching and yoga as well. It's the most peaceful place that I've ever been. The house is beautiful. The views are incredible. The amenities are extensive. It has Irish Charm with American flare. Big windows. Real washer and dryer. It has many different sitting areas, nice beds, and a big bath tub. It even has pretty good internet.

You really just have to see it and feel it. My description and any photos cannot describe it. There was a lot of love put into this home. The only problem is that you might never want to leave.

The townspeople are very, very friendly. The local pub is a great place to get Guinness (they add red currant for me to make it less bitter.)

It is close to things to do and see. It is winter now for my visit. I love the rain and the ocean and the cows. I even watch the calves running and playing. And I've had plenty of exercise running on the road up and down the nearby hills and along the sandy beach. And the sun comes out to say hello.

I'll certainly come again!

Along with another couple, we stayed in the Stone House the last week in April 2008. Beautiful, spacious, well-appointed home with spectacular ocean view. The best place we have ever stayed in Ireland---by far. We'll go back.

The Stone House is MARVELOUS! We would
definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.
The setting is beautiful with a lovely
place to walk. The rock and flower gardens around it are delightful.
You pass cows and horses and their colts on walks. You even see cows down
near the shore.
The kitchen (and whole house) is very well equipped. There are extra touches such as coats for rainy, cool days.
The "upside down" living room is great.
It is on 2nd floor making for an awesome view of sunsets and rain coming in across the Bay. Deirdra and Anna (the "caretaker") were VERY helpful about the area and the house.
We had a few rainy days but loved staying in the house. As we took day trips it was a pleasure to come back there and my huband said after our last
day trip he was so sorry we weren't going back to the Stone House.
We loved eating and playing on the lovely, big, old dining table.
You can walk to a small store that will surprise you with all it has.
Also a pub is within walking distance.
Definitly consider this house in your travels to Ireland.

We stayed in this beautiful stone house from February 18th to February 25th 2008. The house was very large and so well decorated. The stone sculptures throughout the house added such a pleasing ambience. The lighting was perfect, The fireplace was large and we will not soon forget the wonderful smell of burning turf. Upstairs the balcony overlooked a garden, a pature and the ocean. The wandering cows could be heard mooing in the morning which always made us smile. The master bedroom had an amazing bathroom, with a separate tub for relaxing with a bubble bath. Outside of the master bedroom was frech doors to a garden. Even though the garden was mostly asleep as it is winter I still wandered through it. The design was fun and brought stone sculture surprises. Down a little path we were so excited to see ponys. My daughter actuall met up with girl who owned them. She and my daughter are both 12 yrs old. They became friends and went horseback riding together. The Irish are so friendly. There was so many beautiful sights to see, the Cliffs, and the Burren, and the perfumery. We will never buy perfume any where else again. Thanks for your wonderful house, and Anna was so kind and helping. We had a great time and cant wait to return one day!

This house is a fabulousl find! It has a casual
elegance that I have not found often in rental
houses, or others for that matter. It has a great feel
of an old farm house, but the benefits of new
construction - well-equiped kitchen, heated stone
floors, comfortable beds, beautiful lighting, and
loads of natural light. It is situated on the slope of
the hill overlooking the ocean, feeling surprisingly
private and secluded. The area is a beautiful place
to explore, but you probably will be torn whether or
not to leave the house! You will wake up to cows
grazing and the sky over the sea constantly
changing. I can't wait to go back!!

This house is wonderful! We stayed in the Stone House in October, had wonderful weather (cool but clear!), celebrated Halloween, and enjoyed quiet Irish life! We are returning guests, but had always stayed in the Bridge House before. Both houses are incredible but the view from the upstairs of the Stone House is spectacular. For a smaller group I recommend the Stone House! WE LOVED IT!!

My wife and I have made about 10 trips to Ireland and have stayed in a variety of accomodations ranging from Kenmare's Park Hotel and Ashford Castle to the simplest bed and breakfast... But never have we stayed in such a magical home or location! This was the first trip for our sons age 14 and 16 and they thought it was very cool to be staying in a house made of stone, but with all the creature comforts! We chose to enjoy the beauty of the local area, and were so happy to meet many of the local neighbors!

There is an Irish belief that once you go to the Burren it enchants you and you can never leave. We certainly found that to be true. Even though we had to get back to our "regular" lives, we will always carry the Burren with us. It was the most magical
place we have ever been. Besides the gorgeous sunsets, the stark beauty of the landscape, the fascination of the sea, and the amazingly friendly
people, both the Stone house and the Bridge house were perfect. Their charm and comfort were everything we could have imagined. It felt like home. Every view from every window is a
photograph. The gardens are full of wildflowers and both houses are stocked with great music, books, and enough great beds, towels, cooking utensils, and dishes to support an army! There are many day trips available from the area if one hasn't seen the west coast, golf courses within an easy drive, and lovely restaurants within 20 minutes. But why
bother? Nothing was as good as Fanore. Every day was a new adventure, a new beauty, and a new view of the area and ourselves. We can't wait to go back!

What a joy to stay within a sculpture. The house
breathes enchantment as well as comfort. A perfect
place for the base of an Irish adventure.

We stayed at the Stone House in the off-season (end of November) because we wanted to get away to a peaceful, beautiful, wild place where we didn't have to DO anything! The house was perfect for us...a cozy hideout to watch the endless weather changes, rainbows, wind, sun, clouds, walks on the vast beach..and thank you, Anna, for being so helpful and kind to us.
This is a very special house that you will not soon forget.

The Stone House is a picture in itself. It is charming, super comfortable and perfectly situated for travelling (Cliffs of Mohr, Lahinch Golf, Shopping at Doolins, Aran Islands, etc., etc.). The home has beautiful windows with views of lovely gardens from the lst floor bedroom suites and the 2nd floor has floor to ceiling windows looking out onto Galway Bay. There is a balcony where one can sit and watch the sunsets (and surfers) with a glass of wine. It is a welcoming home with all amenities. Two weeks is not enough time - you won't want to leave.

We began planning our two week August vacation in February, and dealing with the owners was always pleasant and relaxed. Despite high expectations, we were truly unprepared for the incredible beauty and comfort of the Stone House in Fanore. The house is absolutely perfect in every way - beautifully appointed but at the same time exceedingly comfortable. The setting is remarkable - the Aran Islands close enough to reach out and touch - the mountains of Connamara offin the distance across Galway Bay - the sunset in between! Stunning sunsets every night, beautiful rainbows from time to time. We are a family of five, and just fit comfortably. Our friends stayed in the beautiful house next door (essentially one property) and we traveled one hour north to Galway several times, a few hours to Connemara twice, stayed overnight on Innishmore one night, and played golf at Lahinch (30 minutes), Ballybunion and Tralee (2 hours south.) In short, it is the perfect spot from which to tour the West of Ireland - from Dingle all the way to Connemara. Doolin, Ballyvaughn and Lahinch are great villages and towns within thirty minutes. The Burren is breathtaking and unusual. Most of all, the people of the village were friendly and helpful. Although it was our first trip to Ireland, we've been fortunate to have stayed in many special places over the years - no other place combines the peacefulness, natural beauty and comfort. The memories will last a lifetime - but we'll return someday.

Stone House is a charming, lovely home on Galway Bay. It's a place of peace, relaxation and so much beauty in the tasteful furnishings, outdoor landscaping, and surroundings. Sunsets are spectacular. The beach is within walking distance and the neighbors are friendsly. The location is convenient to scenic attractions. Indeed, this is a welcoming home to all.

Although I had seen pictures of the property and various rooms within the Stone House, these did not do justice to my experience. This was one of the most enjoyable vacations that I have had. Views of Galway Bay and sunsets were spectacular. A car is a must and it provides the opportunity to see the sights that are interesting yet close by (also the chance to drive on the opposite side of U.S. driving).

This was the most charming and lovely home that I have ever stayed in. It was particularly great staying here while visiting the west coast of Ireland. Every possible amenity was available for my comfort and I felt so comfortable - just as if I was living in my own home.
The beautiful scenic views of Galway Bay were simply breathtaking and the sunsets were spectacular sights. The Aran Islands could be seen clearly from the magnicient floor length windows.
The inside of the house is decorated in the feng shui style and this fact in itself had a great attraction for me. Being able to see the water and the gorgeous looking wildflowers everywhere gave me more energy than ever.
The inside stonework seems to draw in the carniverous limestone rocks which can be seen all over the Burren.
I enjoyed a fabulous lamb meal at the Gregan's Castle, located in Ballyvaughan, and also visited some local pubs. (Monks, etc.)
Stay in the Stone House if you want to have a fabulous vacation in Ireland.
