We stayed in the East during the week of 10/11/08 through 10/18/08 and it was great. Mr. Chen, or Ivan as he is referred to, was great. He was very accommodating, providing all necessities needed, except for food. He even provided snorkling equipment and an umbrella for us to enjoy a day at the beach. The view is spectacular and the house was amazing. We will definitely go back and visit Ivan.

We just returned from a delightful stay in the East Wing. Mr. Chen (Ivan), couldn't have been more hospitable, with a very nice welcome when we arrived late in the evening. The apartment has everything we needed for a few days of relaxation away from the craziness of Waikiki. But, if you need to be in the middle of it all, it is only a short (15 minute) drive. It was cool to be able to see our "home" from nearly every area of Honolulu as we looked toward Tantalus. Usually when we visit Hawaii, our favorite island is Kauai for the quiet relaxation, now we have a quiet choice on Oahu. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Awesome accommodations (plush carpeting, granite countertops, jacuzzi tub), welcoming hospitality (you'll definitely feel da Aloha Spirit here), insanely gorgeous view (Diamond Head to past Punchbowl)!!!

This is the best rental we've stayed at in Hawai'i and we can't wait to return! :)

Staying at eastwing was a right choice for us. We were on our honeymoon and this is an ideal place to stay, away from the bussy tourist streets area. Tony and Mr. Chen was very helpful with whatever we need with a friendly greating. We diffinitly will come to stay again and maybe book the whole place when we come with family.

Magnificent view and great place for vacation!!! It was much more than we expected. The marvelous view, very neat and well furnished house, beautiful bath set, ........were really impressive. Also many thanks for the warm hospitality of Mr. & Mrs. CHEN who had made our trip the most pleasurable. We would say it was the most enjoyable trip we have ever had. Our kids and friends who traveled with us all agreed. We cannot wait to plan for our next trip to Honolulu and stay in the beautiful house again.

This was our first vcation and our first time to Hawaii. It could of not been more perfect. Mr. Shang was so very hospitable. They had an aromatic bath powder that was heavenly and made your skin very soft. The East wing was beautiful with its decor and especially the view. The drive was the best. It went through the Tantulus. It was a picture every minute. Mr.Shang made opur stay there very relaxing and enjoyable. With provided beach gear; cooler, boogie boards snorkel gear and even sun tan lotion due to the flight restrictions. He had everything you needed to get your vacsation started off right. We are already thinking of when to go back !!!!!

The stay was great, the location amazing, and Mr.
Shang was very nice! He let us borrow snorkel gear
and boogie boards which would have been $$$ to
rent. Oahu is a great place to stay in Hawaii, it has
so much to do that you'll never get bored. We were
staying for our Honeymoon and it was very private
and romantic. The East wing had an amazing view,
we must have took about 500 pictures from there.
Tony was very nice and escorted us to the location
because we had to take the back road since they
were doing construction on the normal road, and
although it was a long drive it was beautiful! The
next time we're in Oahu we will definitely stay at
the Best of Honolulu!

An absolutely gorgeous location with a breath-taking view of the coastline and Honolulu. The apartment was beautifully decorated with every modern convenience. We were treated like 'family' and had a very restful, relaxing vacation. Can't wait to return to this paradise 'getaway.'

Our month-long stay in the East Wing greatly exceeded our expectations. We, of course, were totally enamored with the view. It is even more dramatic at night and the early morning hours give the city a different look with the sun in the east.

We were able to cook all of our meals with just the rice cooker, roaster oven, microwave and barbeque, which has a side burner for stir-frying or cooking beans, etc. There was a full-size refrigerator.

You can see the entire city of Honolulu from Diamond Head to the airport and even the ocean out 20 miles or so. You can even see the city from the very comfortable king-sized bed, which is up three steps from the living room. The quality of the linen and towels is premium, to match the facility. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable sitting areas, even a desk for our computer. The shower is wonderful and there is a jacuzzi tub to further relas. We were able to wash all our clothes in the outside washer/dryer. There was even beach equipment supplied including snorkel gear, boogie boards, an air mattress and even a cooler to take a lunch, filled with ice from the ice machine in the refrigerator.

The owner Mr. Chen, was very attentive to us and always anxious to please us and make certain we were comfortable. He gave us an orientation on how to get around Honolulu (complete with map) and could not have been more hospitable. The place is quiet and restful. We felt very private and yet not isolated. We enjoyed taking our meals in the gazebo, while looking down at the city and ocean. On a scale of 1-10 (and we've stayed in many different condos over the years in Honolulu), this was a 10. The landslide in 2006 which closed the road forced us to drive an extra 6 miles up and down the mountain, but that was a small sacrifice to stay in such a wonderful place. When the slide is repaired, be certain to take the long way around to get a feel of the mountain jungle. The one and only negative was having to leave; we couldn't find anything we didn't like.

Hopefully, when we return to Honolulu, Mr. Chen will have space available for us to stay at the "compound." If not, we'll still drive up to renew our acquaintence with this gracious and hospitable man.

The place is amazing, and does feel a bit like a home away from home. The Pictures don't do this wonderful getaway justice. The view is phenomanal and the ammenities far better than we hoped. My wife and I can't wait to return. The best thing about our stay was the owners who were helpful and hospitable but not intrusive, we asked them questions about the island and they gave us great advice where to go and what to see. Super people and an incredible vacation place on and an incredible island paradise.
