Mtn Peek has been a great home base for our trip. It was a short trip to the Ocoee Whitewater Center and the Amicalola Falls State Park. It was nice to have a hot tub to relax in after a long day of hiking. We really enjoyed exploring the trail right here on your mountain. The recreational chapel on the pond was a nice surprise that we almost missed. No bear sightings but we did meet a very nice dog named Fred who lives just down the road.

What a beautiful cabin you have up here! It made for the perfect place for our Honeymoon Vacation. To think...we almost went on a cruise!
We had loads of fun this week. We first went to Amicalola Falls and then found ourselves on a wild waterfall..hunting trek. We found a couple that were lame, but we did find one that was amazing- Black Falls. I couldn't begin to tell you where it is, but do know we passed a secret army ranger training camp on the way. On our way back from the falls, we ended up in the heart of the Blue Ridge Wildlife Reserve and the National Forest. We drove bumpy paths in the civic (by the way, paths which make the trip up this mountain look like a joke) for about 3 hours up and down mountains, crossing the appalachian trail a few teims and a ranger training exercise that scared us to death (imagine driving up on 50 camophlauged men with ak47s). How exciting! Hahaha- Anthony, my new husband, says not "exciting", rather embarassing! Oh well..!
The rest of the week was awesome. We rode horses, went rafting down the ocoee with Rolling Thunder (who was awesome) and went to Helen- which I must say to whomever reads this....don't waste your time!
But all-in-all, it was a great trip. North GA is beautiful!

The you for sharing your beautiful cabin with me, my daughters and their friends. We found the area to be very relaxing.
The teenagers had the upstairs and I had some "Peace and Quiet" downstairs. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and I enjoyed my morning coffee with the hummingbird and the wonderful view.
Our rafting trip was great and all of the towns were "Picture Card" perfect. We will need to return during the fall and holiday season.

(on their 20th wedding anniversary..)Just want to let you know that we had a wonderful time this past weekend. The cabin is wonderful, the drive up to it with us being from Florida was new and fun. The hot tub was nice too. We played the White Path golf club and it was a great course just right up the road and in great shape. The best part was the wild life, with lots of deer all over the course... got some great pictures.
Being halfway between Ellijay and Blue Ridge was nice both offered lots of shopping and eating. We went to Amicalola Falls one day and Helen another...both were near by and worth the trip. After searching on VRBO, I found this cabin. The pet friendly, reasonable price and handicap accessible was just what we were looking for. After driving around the Mountain several times, we finally found "Mountain Peek". This cabin is perfect, the location is beautiful and the view is too. The cabin is very homey.

We had a great time here. Came for my boyfriend's birthday with my Mom and brother. The guys had a great time fishing and we gals had a great time shopping in Blue Ridge and hiking.
We had a wonderful meal Saturday night of steak and shrimp, we got at the Korger in Jasper. (By far the best butcher dept. I've ever been to. ) It was nice to cook a wonderful meal and enjoy the hot tub.
We especially enjoyed having Izzy with us, our dog. The pet friendly environment made this trip that much more special.
We want to paln a spring trip back and stay for a week. :)
The views are great. We agree with a few others and think a few trees being topped out and those views would be phenomenal. Friday night we saw the most gorgeous rainbow amongst the ridge of mountains.
Thanks again for a most memorabel and relaxing time. We hope to come back again and visit a few more places and go on some longer hikes...and the boyfriend says...catch even more fish! :)

Wow!! What a great weekend! Spent Friday morning in Blue Ridge shopping and then made our trek to Ingle's to tock up on groceries.
The drive up the mountain was interesting...not what we expected. Definitely worth the laborious drive up. Ate pizza and watched "Harold and Kuman Go to White Castle".
Sat. morning we took the train to McCaysville. I forced Ron to go but I think he enjoyed it. Came back to watch the Alabama vs. Arkansas game....Roll Tide!! It rained hard all night but made for a great sleep.
