Stayed at this property June 20-30, 2009 This place was even better than I had hoped. The house is spacious, light, airy, and filled with interesting books about the area and its culture. The setting is heavenly. You feel as if you were in the wilderness, with quail and roadrunners and rabbits in the front and back lawns and hummingbirds flitting in the mesquite trees. I too saw a bobcat as I was walking down Makahoh Trail. Yet there are neighbors nearby and the area is safe and friendly.
I would definitely come here again, perhaps in the winter when the days aren't so hot. (Even in June, though, it was cool enough in the morning and early evening to take walks). I will always remember the sunsets and the play of light and shadow on the mountains at the end of the day.

We spent 4 nights at Rancho Chuparosa in September 2009. A wonderful house where we spent many a happy hour watching the humming birds & lounging in the spa. The house & gardens were absolutely georgous & a superb location for day visits to various locations. Loved it & have spent many happy hours reminising over the past months. The house itself was spotless & equiped with anything one could want or need. Would love to return one day. Thanks so much Tim for letting us stay in your beautiful home & for making the whole holiday/booking an easy & stress free experience.

Rancho Chuparosa greatly exceeded expectations. Western living at its best! Well furnished, beautiful location, abundant wildlife in the backyard (hummingbirds, Gila woodpeckers, California Quail, Coyote, cacti in bloom). Every amenity, spotlessly clean, great views, peaceful -- would stay here again anytime.

We stayed 2 weeks in January 2009. We had a wonderful time. The house was well stocked and inviting. We loved all the books, convenience of having internet service and wildlife that visited. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace and used the hot tub. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and close to hiking, shopping and restaurants. We loved Tucson and definitely be back. We recommend the Hummingbird highly.

We spent a month at Humming Bird Ranch in Oct-Nov 2008, and had a wonderful time. Everything that we read, from others who who stayed before us, was absolutely true. The property and surrounding area is beautiful. The house is well furnished and stocked, very comfortable and private. The creatures and birds that wander through on a daily bases are amazing. There are so many things to see and do in and around Tucson, and all are within an easy drive. Finally, Tim is very easy to work with and very accommodating. We highly recommend this place for your next vacation.

We've stayed at the ranch twice and consider it to be our home away from home. It's close to everything but also quiet and secluded. We are cyclists and hikers and were able to do both from front step (perfect for those interested in climbing Mt Lemmon, house is at base of it). Tim is great to work with (communication, followup) and his home is charming and immaculate. Can't wait to return in 2009.

It was a delight staying at Rancho Chuparosa located amidst the beautiful honey mesquites, saguaros, ocotillos, cactus pear and barrel cactus that form the unique ecosystem of the Sonoran desert. Each morning as we watched the sun rise above the nearby mountains, we were visited by the local wildlife, cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, hummingbirds, white winged doves. While neighbors weren't too far away the landscaping gave privacy and a peaceful, quiet, rural experience. The house itself is charming and comfortably decorated with a kitchen well stocked for cooking. Tim had a very good collection of books on Tucson, cowboys, wildlife, geology, etc. as well as current magazines on what's happening in Tucson that helped us enjoy our stay. I highly recommend a stay there.

We are late in entering our comment as we stayed their in March. It was absolutely fantastic (clean, comfortable, many amenities). I traveled with various spices and kitchen things but it wasn't necessary as your kitchen was very well stocked. It had everything one would need. Loved the cookbooks. Having access to a PC was a nice benefit. Great mornings watching the birds and various critters. Dan had to buy the dripper you had in the birdbath. Weather was fabulous as we traveled by motorcycle every day. Thank you so much. Loved It!!!!

We loved the hummingbird ranch! Very suitably named. We used it as a base for hiking - great proxmity to Saguaro East, Sabino Canyon, and Mt. Lemmon. But it was hard to tear ourselves away from watching hummingbirds, quails, rabbits and cactus wrens in your backyard! Your lovely house had everything; it really felt like a home. We look forward to returning.

Tim...When it's soggy in the Northwest, we know where we want to go! We loved your 'ranchette', everything from your warm and cozy house to the delightful back deck where we spent hours identifying birds and other critters zipping across the yard. We even saw a coyote who I'm sure was scouting for bunnies! Everything was perfect and we thank you for the privilege of staying there. What a treat!

Dear Tim--After driving from Pittsburgh winter, through 3 more inches of snow and then an ice storm, arriving at Rancho Chuparosa was positively other-worldly! We loved the house--beyond clean and comfortable, but also well-stocked and decorated by someone who truly appreciates Arizona culture. Add to that the beauty of the desert, the blue skies, and warm weather, we had a wonderful time. Thanks! This demands a repeat!

We really enjoyed your house, and the birds. Your house is also very clean and comfortable. I filled up the Hummingbird feeders and watched the hummingbirds, Gila woodpeckers and Cactus Wren. We hiked and read and relaxed. Thank you. We didn't use your spa...next time. Anne and Mark

Dear Tim, thank you for letting us stay in your beatiful rancho! Although we had been very familar with Tucson already, we were still overwhelmed by the house and its characteristic surroundings. We were very impressed by the home itself, its beautiful Sonoran style architecture and furnishing, how clean everything is, and how complete the kitchen equipment is.
Thank you once again for renting to us, we will be very happy to rent Rancho Chuparosa again on many future occasions!! I do hope someone keeps feeding the Hummingbirds while we are away … :-)

Just wanted to let you know that our latest Tucson vacation was the best yet! It was so nice staying in a comfortable, warm home with lovely surroundings in a peaceful, secluded corner of Tucson rather than a hotel room in the midst of Tucson city’s hustle, bustle and millions of Targets. The house was immaculate and extremely well stocked. Was able to find every utensil I needed for cooking!
We were pleasantly surprised to find so much hiking literally around the corner. We were able to go out hiking several days without getting in the car. The wildlife right out the back door was delightful. We saw hummingbirds, quail, roadrunners, a 6 – 8 point deer, rabbits (including a antelope jackrabbit) and the best – a bobcat sitting in the mesquite tree near by the hot tub.
We will definitely rent your home again!

When you are looking for a home on the internet you never are really sure what you will be getting till you see the house. This house was more than we expected. The house is larger than we thought, decorated very nicely and has every thing you would ever need. The location is perfect for getting any place you want to go. The yard was interesting for someone from Ohio who had never seen all those cactus. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to return to Tucson and Rancho Chuparosa.

We loved the ranch. The dessert is beatiful and feels very undeveloped in this area. The house is very niceand has a very private feel, we wished we had more time to relax there. Tons of wildlife and great walking or biking at the doorstep. Getting in and out of town is a breeze as well, not much traffic. |

Your house met every expectation, and surpassed most. our stay was made extra special by the appointments [ one minor complaint --the hot tub was filthy and unuseable}. THe junping choia only got me once as I was "lost" in photographing your place at dusk. The golf was fantastid,TUscon a wonderful city, the surrounding area beyond compare. I would certaintly like to return in the near future. Again, many thanks for making our trip that extra bit special. Yours, freezing in the great white north, Rob |

Homeowner Response:
Hi Robert,
Thanks for the positive remarks.
Tucson is a very special place and a Golfer's heaven!!
Sorry about the spa. I was told by my friend that lives down the street and looks after the home that the spa was clean and ready to go before your rental. I'll make sure next time that it is cleaned better and useable.
Thanks again for your business and have a safe and happy Holiday season.
Sincerely,
Tim Bruchman

We really enjoyed our stay at Rancho Chuparosa! It was a great place to relax and enjoy the serene desert life that Tucson has to offer! If we had more time we would have loved to use the outdoor fire pit and relax in the cooler night temperatures of November in Tucson. It was just a short drive back to city life so if we needed anything, it was close by. Thank you Tim, for letting us stay in your house!

Hi Tim,
We've had a terrific Easter Holiday here. Everything was as we would have wished it to be. The yards and wildlife were just delightful, funny and an endless source of entertainment. He had just enough time for hiking, sightseeing and checking out the local fare, including good Mexican food - and just being here in the quiet, sun-filled space.
Thanks for opening your home to us,
