| First time in Paris and every expectation was exceeded especially our stay at the studio. You cannot beat the location in the heart of Montmartre...close to great restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and especially the metero (close to 2 main stops). The studio was perfect for the two of us for a week stay. Everything we could possibly need was there along with free wifi and international calls to the US and Canada. The collection of movies were a great treat to come home to after a long day exploring Paris. The best part of our stay was the warm hospitality of Marlys and Michael. They go the extra mile to make it a home away from home. Michael's walking Montmartre tour was a true gem as that helped us get acclimated to the neighborhood and made us even more giddy that we were in Paris. I hope to stay again at the studio on my next visit to the city of lights. |

Europe beckoned and Paris became a superb base, thanks to the unique hospitality of Marlys and Michael whose studio was "home" for two weeks.
We saved on train tickets (on promo fares) and optimized our tours of Schengen states with the custom-made itinerary specially prepared by Marlys. Every night was movie marathon night at the studio as we were regaled by their collection of films shot in all the splendor of Paris. The Paris Movie Walk made me appreciate the sights and sounds of Montmartre in all its glory. Truly it was a dream holiday and I could only sigh, "wish we've done this 10 years and 10 pounds ago."

Absolutely Perfect!!! Our first trip to Paris was made extra special by
the wonderful hospitality Marlys & Michael provided us, and their
generous sized, clean, fully equipped and sunny studio exceeded our
expectations! It was a treat to be staying in the heart of Montemarte
and Michael's Walking Tour of Montemarte was fantastic and fun! We very
much appreciated this opportunity to learn about this exciting area of
Paris and its history. Marlys & Michael welcomed us warmly and provided
us with many useful tips for our first stay in Paris. Their generosity
made us feel like friends visiting rather than tourists. The studio had
all the amenities we needed (plus bonus extras like free wi fi and phone
calls back to Australia!!), and we were able to get fresh bread in the
morning and prepare our own cooked breakfast in our kitchen which we ate
in our room enjoying the view of the Sacre Couer bell tower while
watching the locals go by, before heading off to explore Paris.
We were so lucky to find this gem and can't wait to return. We would
definitely recommend staying here! Thank you so much Marlys &
Michael!

we've been to Paris a couple of times before but it always seems to call us back. there is always something new to see, visit and enjoy. this time we brought along all our adult kids and they were totally charmed. Marlys and Michael are very good friends and perfect hosts. the tour they gave us around the Montemarte area was simply fantastic. their studio is strategically located just a stone's throw from Montmarte and the Sacre Couer where tourists congregate until late in the evening. their studio is definitely the place to stay in when in Paris.

What an experience! This is our second trip to Paris, but definitely the one that stands out the most.
My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. The location is great and there is so much to see!
Our hosts Micheal and Marlys were wonderful and they were exceptionally helpful with suggestions and helping us out. The walking tour of Montmartre is amazing and very informative.

Fünf Tage in einem Appartment in Paris, mit sehr netten und zuvorkommenden Gastgebern - Mensch was willst du mehr? Die kleine Wohnung direkt hinter Sacre-Coeur gelegen, hatte das vielgepriesene Pariser-Flair.
Das unsere Gastgeber deutsch sprachen, war uns eine grosse Hilfe und der Montmartre Rundgang mit Michael war
einfach "Klasse". Wer an einem der
schönsten Plätze von Paris ein paar Tage
verbringen möchte und das zu einem ausgezeichneten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, kommt um dieses Studio nicht herum.Danke Marlys und Michael, bei euch haben wir uns wohl gefühlt.
Wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen.

My wife, Lisa, and I had a wonderful time staying here during our trip to Paris. The location is great and there is so much to see! Micheal took us on a wonderful walking tour of Montmartre on a sunny morning. They are such great hosts! With our limited (non existent) french speaking ability, Micheal and Marlys were a big help indeed.

| My 12 year old son and I had a wonderful stay in Paris and the studio. It was the perfect size for us and Marlys and Michael were so helpful all through the process of booking, arrival, and while we were there. Marlys had delicious pastries when we arrived and Michael gave us a great tour of the neighborhood. While this was not a problem for us, a prospective visitor should know it is about a 10-12 minutes walk to the nearest subway stations (Anvers and Abbesses (sp?)). There are lots of great shops near the Abbesses station, though, so it became part of our routine. This studio offers great value. |

| We had a lovely week in Paris, we can't thank Michael and Marlys enough for their hospitality. From the breakfast you made for us on the morning of our arrival to helping us out with the airport shuttle (since we don't speak French!), we are very grateful-- you made our visit so much more enjoyable! The tour Michael gave us of the neighbourhood was one of the highlights of our trip-- not to be missed. The studio itself is a great space and suited us (couple + infant) very well, and the neighbourhood is fantastic. Why stay in a high priced hotel in a tourist distict when you can stay in a studio with a kitchenette in a neighbourhood where "real" Parisians live? Highly recommended, and thank you again Michael and Marlys! |

We so enjoyed our stay in the studio during our trip
to Paris. Marlys and Michael were such kind and
generous hosts. From greeting us with a delicious
breakfast, to taking us on a fascinating tour of
Montmartre, to providing shopping information, to

Our stay was amazing. The flat was ample enough for our family. The location was close to all ameneties like the subway, gorceries and specially the bakeries. It was nice to feel like living in Paris rather than visiting.
Thanks Marlys and Michael for being generous and hospitable. We were greeted with the best French pastries as soon as we arrived. The tour of Montmarte was wonderful. To see the location where the movie scenes were filmed and other interesting location and factoids.

Je viens de passer une courte mais ravissante vacance à Paris avec mon ami Andrea (qui signe ce Livre d’Or ci-dessous en englais). C’est la 5me fois dans ma vie que je visite la ville lumière et chaque fois je découvre une ville différente, charmante, qui me donne des fortes émotions inoubliables… Je dois avouer que ces dernières vacances ont étées vraiment spéciales. Pour la première fois je n’ai pas réservé une chambre d’hôtel mais - vraiment géniale !!! - un joli studio dans le cœur magique de Montmartre juste à coté du Sacre Coeur ou j’ai pu me sentir pour quatre jours un peux parisien.
Je dois remercier pour tout cela Marlys et son mari Michael pour leur hospitalité, politesse et gentillesse…. Oui , j’ai déjà envie d’y retourner. Alors il ne me reste que dire à tout cela: "à bientôt !!!!"

The studio is located in a fabulous zone of montemartre. I had difficulties to realize how near was to the Sacre Coeur. The studio was perfect for two persons, very confortable and full of everything you need for a nice stay: internet, cd-player, cable tv, microwave, grill, coffee machine ecc ecc. The owners (Marlys & Michael) was SUPER kind. What also can i say? Highly recommanded!

haben uns in Eurem Studio sehr wohlgefühlt. Nach
den voll gepackten Tagen mit Spaziergängen,
Sightseeing und Museen haben wir uns immer sehr
auf unser gemütliches Zuhause gefreut. Auch die
Lage haben wir sehr genossen: Nahe genug am
Zentrum, aber doch so ruhig, dass man sich gut
entspannen kann. Auch das umliegende Viertel hat
uns positiv überrascht - es war viel ursprünglicher,
als wir erwartet hatten. Schade, dass es diesmal nur
für ein paar Tage gereicht hat, aber wir kommen
bestimmt mal wieder.

I had an unforgettable stay in Paris mostly because of my fantastic hosts: Marlys, Michael, and their son, Joshua. Marlys took me under her wing and like a mother, provided all the comfort and security I needed to ensure a spectacular first-time visit to this grand city.
I felt at home. I felt safe. After my difficult journey from the States to Germany and then to Paris, I gladly received the warmth and serenity that this cozy studio offered. Staring out the window was my favorite pastime. (At night, one of the bell towers of the Sacre Coeur glows in the distance!)I can't describe the fulfillment I felt as I sipped hot tea and watched passersby walk along the dimly lit path as I tried to understand what they mumbled.
There are a great number of exceptional boulangeries, patisseries, and boucheries around, and with an excellent selection of cheeses, spreads, and other produce at the nearby Champion, you'll never go hungry (or be dissatisfied :). Marlys gladly details all the necessary stores, directions, and answers any and all questions to make sure that her visitors are content. And Michael's Montmartre tour is a must! He unveils all the "seen on film" locales and offers interesting tid-bits on each. :)
This studio has become my Parisian home. Thank you, Marlys, Michael, and Josh!

Ciao!siamo state a Parigi per qualche giorno la settimana scorsa e abbiamo soggiornato in questo fantastico studiò ai piedi del Sacro Cuore.
E' proprio molto carino, piccolino al punto giusto x soggiornare in 2 persone, ben arredato e molto accogliente. Dalla finestra della stanza si vede il Sacro Cuore!E' in centro, la mètro si raggiunge velocemente e si può utilizzare anche la funicolare, se non si ha voglia di far le scale;-)
E' proprio carino e in questo fantastico quartiere di Montmatre ti permette di vivere pienamente l'atmosfera e la vita parigina!

Wir hatten ein wunderbares Wochenende in Paris, nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten am Flughafen (keine Kreditkarte akzeptiert beim Fahrkartenkauf) wurden wir liebevoll von Marlys und Michael mit allem überlebensnotwendigen (Wein, Baguette und Käse) empfangen. Das Studio ist wundervoll gelegen: mitten drin, aber doch so weit abseits, dass man Ruhe findet. Sehr empfehlenswert der Spaziergang mit Michael, er bringt einem Montmartre abseits des großen Rummels ein Stück näher.

Merci Beaucoup to Marlys for a wonderful 6 day stay in beautiful Paris, France. As indicated from previous reviews from past guest(s) who've had the opportunity to stay in this lovely studio. It is centrally located to all that Paris has to offer (nearby Metro of course). With an abundance of wonderful cultural sights, shops and an array of restaurants to choose from, let’s say that we welcomed the few blocks to the apartment to walk off those pounds we put on. The studio provided all the wonderful necessities to keep us comfortable. We will miss this wonderful city, not to mention this studio, which we called home! Should our plans find us visiting beautiful Paris, we will definitely make plans to stay here again, and will be recommending you to our friends and family! Thank you for everything!!!

| I stayed just over a week in this charming Montmartre studio, which surpassed my expectations. Making non-hotel accommodation arrangements from New York City requires a certain degree of faith and Marlys' clear, detailed communications reassured me from the day of my reservation to the day of my arrival that I'd made a good choice. I must admit that my excitement at being so close to the landmark Sacre Coeur also was matched by a wariness of noisy tourist traffic. But the tidy studio was on a delightfully quiet street--well beyond the charivari of souvenir hawkers and camera-beaked pilgrims--which still offered a clear view of one of the basilica's bell towers!!! My helpful hosts, Marlys, Michael and their son, could not have been more gracious and hospitable; their pride of place and love of their neighborhood evident at every juncture. My only regret is that I didn't arrange to stay longer, but I can remedy that error on my next visit. |

Es war eine wunderschöne Zeit in Paris, mitten in Montmartre, nein, da wird nicht zu viel versprochen..3 Wochen war ich in dem gemütlichen Studio, klein aber fein, habe mich fast schon häuslich eingerichtet.
Kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen, besonders wenn man Paris abseits von den Touristenstrudeln kennenlernen will und seinem eigenen Rhythmus folgend die Stadt entdecken will. Es ist alles in der Nähe schon sehr hübsch, aber auch mit der Metro ist man ganz schnell überall in Paris.

A friend recommended this studio to us so I contacted Marlys way ahead of time to book us for 5 days on July 10-14. We met Marlys and Michael upon arrival, we had 2 big luggages and opted to take the metro from CDG airport. The directions given by Marlys were precise so we got there without a hitch. The next morning, Marlys took us around Montmartre for a nice walking tour and explained about every historical landmark and showed us the bakeries, restaurants, grocery store, etc. She even helped us get our money changed. She has also a lot of tips: where to go, what to see, what to avoid.
The studio is a charming accommodation for 2 people. It has a small kitchen where everything you need to whip up a meal is there. Every morning, we walk to the nearby boulangerie, Louis, to buy freshly baked croissants (yum!) and fig baguettes and Champion to buy our cheese and fruits and we prepare our own breakfast with tea in our studio before heading out.
We really enjoyed staying at the studio, it is a secret gem. I would recommend it to anyone. Michael and Marlys are excellent hosts, very friendly and hands-on, they go out of their way to serve their guests. On our last day, Marlys walked us all the way to the RER station so we can just hop on our train non-stop to get to CDG airport directly. We look forward to coming back and staying at the same studio.

| We stayed in the apartment for a week recently and it was a great time. The place is very comfortable and nice with many useful facilities, and what is more, situated in a lovely area of Montmartre. It is close to Sacre Coeur and to the places were artists like van Gogh, Picasso and the others used to live and work. The owners are very warm and helpful, we were given cakes and the help with carrying our luggage when we arrived. |

6/15/08 We stayed in this studio for a week and loved every minute. It’s in a quiet little neighborhood just a stone’s throw from the bustling Sacre Coeur and Place du Tertre. Marlys and Michael are the best – Michael carried my overweight suitcase from the Metro all the way up to the studio. What a champ! Access to two different Metro lines is close by, as are restaurants, bars and boulangeries. You can eat all you want because at the end of the day there are always the stairs to climb! Friends staying at hotels nearby were very jealous of our little studio, and we all agreed that Montmartre was a fabulous neighborhood as homebase for a visit in Paris.

| Just back from a wonderful 4 night break in Montmarte. The flat is in a superb location with views of the bell tower at Sacre Coeur. Sitting by the open windows people watching in the early evening sunshine is a fabulous experience. Marlys and Michael could not have been better hosts and made the holiday even more special. Don't miss the Montmartre movie buff tour given by Michael - its great. Staying in the studio is a great way to get a real feel for Paris and there are plenty of places to buy baguettes, pastries etc for a real Parisienne breakfast. We both hope we will be able to return at some time in the future. |

As the previous commenter said, their restaurant recommendations were spot on - and also, try the restaurant Afghani, which is about a 30-second walk from the studio - we went back twice, it was so delicious! I absolutely loved staying in the Montmartre area. It is one thing visiting it but actually staying there allows you to see and appreciate the everyday life in the neighborhood. I was so grateful to Marlys and Michael for being so hospitable. They told me where the non-tourist shops were, where to buy groceries and anything else I might need. The area is very quiet and safe at night.
I loved that I could make my green tea every morning and anything else I wanted. I only stayed 13 days. Next time it will be LONGER !! (Thanks Marlys and Michael and Blondie, their Cocker Spaniel.) |

Ihr habt Sie gefunden die Ferienunterkunft für ein sensationelles Preisleistungsverhältnis, dass von 2 ganz lieben Menschen, die beide sowohl Deutsch, Englisch als auch Französich sprechen. Trotz Selbstverpflegung wird man nicht verhungern, denn Marlys und Michael sind nicht nur Verpächter, sondern auch noch perfekte Gastgeber. Wer sich mit Paris verbunden fühlen will und ein kleinen Teil der pariser Geschichte spüren will, sollte jetzt schon gebucht haben. Denn Michael ist ein begeisterter Reiseführer, der mehr über Montmartre und das Künstlerviertel erzählen kann, als in irgendwelchen Reiseführern steht. I LOVE MY LITTLE HOME IN MONTMARTRE!! For many years, I have wanted to visit Paris for my 40th birthday. I had the wonderful opportunity to stay in Marlys and Michael's flat in Montmartre for my 10 day visit to Paris. The flat is spotless, safe and super quiet with a beautiful view of the bell tower of Sacre-Coeure. I seriously could have spent the entire 10 days in Montmartre, wandering down cobblestone streets, trying out little cafes and bistros and visiting the little shops and galleries. This area of Paris is a gem! (Ditto on the salads at Relais au Gascon - see comment below - I had the Salad Detente and it was delicious!)
Marlys is an absolute dear! Michael was out of town during my stay so I did not meet him but I was taken care of quite well by Marlys. Immediately upon arriving, Marlys helped me exchange money, have my photo taken for the Metro pass, buy the pass and gave me extremely detailed directions to find everything that I needed. The flat has fantastic free wi-fi and free phone calls to the US and to land lines in France. The day before my birthday, Marlys asked me to stop by her home (five minutes from the studio) where she had TWO little birthday cakes waiting for me and then gave me a gift the day that I left (my actual birthday)!
On top of Marlys being such a delight and the flat being such a cozy home, the people everywhere I went in Montmartre and Paris were absolutely amazing and helpful. My entire stay was brilliant, a trip of a lifetime! I can't wait to go back!! |

We were definitely totally lucky to choose this apartment! After an overnight-trip to arrive in Paris, we had a perfect welcome and a great guided tour through Montmartre. It's great to stay at a lovely, good situated place, to have really nice "landlords" to give recommendations, and last but not least, to have the possibility to watch the movies at the STUDIO and to dive into "Amélie's "and "Sabrina's" movie-world.....
The week in Paris went by too fast, but if we come back to Paris, we now already where to stay ;-)! (Since we have to see the other movies;-)...) |

We had such a lovely trip to Paris. The studio is well situated and convenient to several metro stops and the walk up the hill is the perfect way to work off all the treats that one picks up at the many patisseries in the neighborhood.
Definitely have salad at Relais au Gascon as recommended by Marlys and Michael-may have been one of the most satisfying and delicious meals I've ever had.
Marlys and Michael provide a clean, charming spot with lots of little amenities and such graciousness which makes the trip so enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to this lovely city as soon as we can.

Our stay in Paris was wonderful. The flat had everything we needed (WiFi, a place to cook, a place to rest) and more (free phone calls home, a fantastic view). Marlys and Michael were friendly, diligent, and available whenever we needed to contact them.
Although it rained for most of our stay, we still had a grand time - visiting museums during the day, and going through the flat's DVD library at night.
Be warned though! This flat is right up at the top of Montmartre - my glutes got a great work out during our trip! No lazyness allowed. :) |

| I was desperate to find temporary accommodation when moving to Paris for work reasons and there, were Marlys and Michael like an oasis in the desert. Paris is beautiful but can be expensive and difficult for strangers. The studio on rue du Chevalier de la Barre is a really sweet little haven of peace and comfort in Montmartre. Amazingly quiet, it has all you might need for a short stay, but the best is the owners, helpful, pleasant and accommodating. They make you feel instantly at home. |

| Marlys and Michael are kind souls who offer a nice studio in an excellent location. Montmartre is one of the quaintest areas in Paris, and it's just a short metro trip from any location around Paris that you'd want to visit. I'd recommend a visit to St. Germain-des-Pres, a great neighborhood on the Left Bank, with lots cafes and shopping. But don't stay in a hotel there; instead stay in Montmartre at Marly's and Michael's studio! |

Marlys und Michael haben uns sehr freundlich empfangen und hatten sogar den Kühlschrank für uns aufgefüllt. Das "Studio" ist schön gelegen, ruhig, sauber und ist der ideale Ort um nach einer langen Tour durch Paris abends bei einem Glas Wein zu entspannen. Auch die persönliche Montmartre Führung sollte man nicht verpassen.
Wer ein günstiges und trotzdem komfortables Apartment bei überaus freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Gastgebern sucht, liegt bei Marlys und Michael absolut richtig. Wir würden jedenfalls jederzeit wieder hier buchen! |

We had a wonderful time in Paris thanks to Marlys
and Michael and the lovely flat. The flat is clean and
charming and very comfortable. I traveled to Paris
with my 5 year old son and we were more than
comfortable and happy at the flat. I lost my stroller
and Marlys went out of her way to help me get a
new one. Michael and Marlys took us on a lovely
tour of the neighbourhood and showed us the
lovely sites and great places to shop for food. The
neighbourhood is so very charming and beautiful
and full of great places to eat and wander. Every
morning and every night we enjoyed the views of
Paris and the streets of Montmartre. Marlys was
more than helpful and attentive. We are looking
forward to our return trip and we will be staying
once again at the flat as it was such a lovely

| We cannot recommend this studio enough. The location is unbelievable, you can almost touch Sacre Coeur from the huge windows in this great little place. Equipped with everything you could possibly need, including wifi, DVD player, stereo & free overseas phone calls. Michael & Marlys are unbelievably accommodating hosts, and made us feel extremely welcome & at home. We also got the fabulous Montmarte tour, and were even spoilt with dinner & pastries. Without a doubt, this is one of the best (and cheapest) places we have stayed in Europe. We highly recommend it. |

Hallo, wer eine saubere und schöne Ferienwohnung in Paris sucht, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt, es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht, es war einfach toll.
Ich werde mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten Mal in dieser Wohnung gewesen sein.
Sie ist super zentral, man erreicht alles in wenigen Minuten. Sehr schön ist am Abend der Ausblick auf den beleuchteten Turm des Sacre Coeur. Vielen Dank für die klasse Übernachtungsmöglichkeit und ich werde die Wohnung auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

My husband and I just returned from our
honeymoon to France and Italy and stayed a week
in Paris in this wonderful apartment. We were so
impressed with the hospitality, cleanliness and
great location that we recieved. The building was
quiet and safe, we had a partial view of the Sacre
Coeur from the window and were able to feel like
"real Parisians" for a bit. Please note that there is
quite a lot of walking required for the uphill area,
but we relished a chance to burn off our Croque
Monsieurs and pastries! Our hosts even gave us a
wonderful tour of the Montmartre. You will not be
disappointed! **If you like Polish food there is an
awesome place on Rue Andre del Sarte called
Mazurka that we loved.** |

| You will not regret booking this studio. Michael and Marlys are wonderful hosts-full of useful information about Paris and specifically, the Montmartre neighborhood. Montmartre is the most scenic neighborhood of Paris-you could spend a couple days alone wandering the beautiful streets, browsing in the boutiques, and sampling the many delicious treats at the patisseries. The breakfast at Michael and Marlys' apartment was one of the highlights of our trip-the food and conversation was wonderful. In summary, if you want to move beyond the typical tourist experience and get a feel for the real Paris, stay here. |

They treated us like family when we asked for it in giving directions, leading a great tour, recommending resturaunts. Staying in this studio, we experienced the Paris that we had heard about in books, movies & song.
The studio is set in a picturesque neighborhood that has an authentic Parisian feel.
The shopping is also terrific. Around the corner, we stumbled on shops selling Parisian fashion (clothes, shoes,and accessories) at bargain basement prices. Truly a frugal fashionista's paradise!

I've stayed here twice and so have many of my friends since 2003. I've never felt more Parisian than the times I stayed here. The flat's location is great - safe, very quiet neighborhood in spite of its close proximity to many famous places. Just around the bend from the Sacre Coeure, Place du Tertre, etc. The flat itself is modern, self contained, clean, airy and bright!!

A very lovely flat in a very beautiful neighbourhood. Although many rentals claim to be in Montmartre (a little village in the heart of Paris), this is the real deal, just a stone's throw from the beautiful Sacre Couer church. (It's also on the quieter, less-touristy side).
The flat itself is modern, renovated and suitable to American standards of comfort.
Even more, the rentors are lovely, extremely kind people. All in all, a great stay!

We stayed in this lovely studio in Oct. 1999. I would recommend it to a solo traveller and also a couple. Comfortable and quiet. Nice location. You can take the funiculaire to the top of Montmarte or the mini bus that goes around the neighbourhood to the subway. If you need the exercise, you can always take the steps (how many are there, I forget?)
We heard Sunday mass at the Basilica and the choir of sisters (nuns) was delightful. There is also a version of the Spanish Steps at Montmarte --- lots of young people hang out there. There are street performers during the day and the view at of the city at night is awesome (and it's free). There are also good restaurants nearby.
