We had a WONDERFUL time!! It was my last minute
birthday idea, and Gail was wonderful in helping me
put it together. We had more than enough space
for all 8 of us, and our 2 dogs we brought with us!
Everyone had a great time in the hottub which was
comfortable for 6, but squeezed in all 8 of us ok:)
We made good use of that Viking range in the
kitchen too!! The beds were all comfy, and cozy!
The house definitely helped make this a memorable
birthday for me. I hope they will still be renting it
out next year... because I think we just might do
this again! Thank you Gail for everything! |

| This was a TransAtlantic family reunion for us, with relatives coming in from all over CA and across the Pond. The Rocky Retreat had a great homey feel, a space for the youngest members of the family to bunk down, have their own space to watch tv and play. Nice outdoor patios, with views to enjoy a glass of wine, for the adults to laugh and talk about 'the good old day'. Kitchen was well equipped and a nice large dining area to accomodate lots of people around a big table. Really fun family dinners made this vacation very special for us. The Rocky Retreat is near a small pleasant beach, or a short drive into town. Also near, several casinos if you are into that type of entertainment. The security guard at the Cal-Neva (casino owned by Sinatra) showed us into the back areas of the property where Sinatra and many of the rat pack entertained--very interesting place. We just had a wonderful vacation here, checking out what Tahoe has to offer during the day, hikes, kayaking, rafting etc, and relaxing in the beautiful garden, BBQing and soaking in the hot tub in the evenings. Gail was very helpful during our whole stay and couldn't have been nicer. Bottom line--if you are looking for a great, family oriented place to stay in Tahoe that is beautiful, clean, comfortable, fun and won't wreck your budget, check out the Rocky Retreat. It really does have it all. |

We truly enjoyed our stay at Rocky Retreat. Your house was so comfortable and accommodated our large group nicely. The kitchen is very well stocked. We had everything we needed. The stove was perfect to cook for our big crowd.
The kids had a wonderful time at the beach which was a short walk away. We brought kayaks for everyone to use, but the kids had more fun searching for crawdads.
The hot tub worked perfectly at night to relax the kids before bed time.
Thank you for your hospitality. We hope we can return again sometime.

| We stay in Tahoe for a week each year and always somewhere new. Rocky Retreat without a doubt was the best. We will never need to look again, we will be back. Gail High was wonderfully attentive and a pleasure to rent from. This house is perfect, particularly families with young children and babies. If you love to cook you won't want to leave. The master suite bedding was luxury quality. The landlord, Gail, was so accommodating...we could be friends...we loved it so much, we are already booking for next year. | Rocky Retreat was perfect, I planned a snow-boarding weekend with a group of friends and we had an amazing time. The house was conveniently located about 15 minutes from the slopes of Northstar and at night the house was perfect for relaxing. We spent the evenings soaking in the hot tub, preparing dinner in the fully equipped kitchen, and later, playing games in front of the fire. Everything was provided which made it totally hassle free. Our only problem was that we stayed for too little time...a problem that we intend to remedy by returning in the summer. A really wonderful rental experience. |

The house was very nice and the location was super. We had a family get-to-gether to celebrate birthdays. Casinos were not big so we could come and go and still find each other. We were able to bike to Kings Beach, and ride around. The Truckee River trail is a must with bikes. We also kayaked on the Truckee. There are a lot of trails to hike, too. There is a very small cute beach within walking distance from the house. You could put kayaks in there.
The house is very well equipped. You can make gourmet dinners or barbeque hamburgers on the gas grill as we did. The living area is nice and big so our group never felt crowded. We had nine people playing Uno around the dining room table!
We all enjoyed the hot tub after our day of riding bikes and kayaking.
Gail could not have been easier to work with. She was always just a phone call away and ready to help.

| Not only is this a fabulous home, it has the best "landlord" going. We just completed our 3rd visit. Most convenient location, most comfortable, most everything. Lovely home, yard and neighborhood -- private beach - Kings Beach Dog and People Beach a mile walk or ride away. A fair warning that time does fly while you are here. Stay two weeks next time is our new motto. Clio, AKA Princess, loves the fresh county air and the cold waters of the Lake. She believes this is her "Dog Paradise!" Take good care of this property as we intend to return again and again. |

First of all we would like to say "Thank you", to Gail and her family, for open this very nice house to the public. We were eight guys who enjoyed every second of our vacation. The house is wonderful (and convenient) located near the Lake. You can reach all Ski areas within an hour drive.
The house is huge and very well equipped. We liked the gas range in the kitchen very much.
Of course everybody loved the hot tube in the backyard.
Conclusion: Huge, clean, very good organized house just a stone's throw from gambling, ski areas, bars, restaurants and beaches away. |

Second time we have stayed here. It is a wonderful
home, very high tone, with all the amenities, well
appointed in every room. We especially appreciated
the hot tub running perfectly when we got there.
Can't say enough nice things about this home, and
doing business with the owners. The kitchen is a
joy to work in, with all the utensils and cups and
plates and cooking equipment you could need.
The living room is so comfortable, the bedrooms all
very nice. Our family of 10 slept here beautifully.
What a treat to be able to bring our dog also.
We will continue to use Rocky Retreat, as my
daughter said, "It is a perfect home for our

Rocky Retreat was the prefect match for our family reunion. The cabin with its big kitchen and great room allowed everyone to mingle and party at ease. It had been years since we'd had a family vacation. This
year we decided to take our grown children and granddaughter to Lake Tahoe for Christmas. It was blissful. Rocky Retreat could not have been more welcoming. I brought a small Christmas tree with us, but there was no need -- the house was beautufuly decorated. There is so much space both upstairs and down that we (eight of us) could spread out and not feel that we were on top of each other.
Of special note is how impeccably the very large kitchen is outfitted.
We had no difficulty preparing a full Christmas banquet and Christmas
Eve dinner. It was as easy as if we were in our own kitchen.
This was one vacation that lived up to all expectations. I expect that
Rocky Retreat will see us over and over again - during any season.

We really enjoyed Rocky Retreat. Upstairs living was a nice change for us. We loved the private setting and the great fenced in back yard. We enjoyed the large kitchen as well as all
of the nice furnishings throughout the
home. We liked the kitty cat touches in
the living room as we are cat lovers too! Our Siberian Husky had the time of
his life. He loved sitting on the upper
deck looking at all the squirrels running around down below. We even saw
a rabbit! We have never seen a rabbit
before at the Lake. All in all this is
definately one of our favorite vacation rentals. What a joy it was to walk into
a clean, well decorated home with a bottle of wine waiting for us. We hope
to come again next year! What a joy it
was too to be able to bring our beloved

The four kids (aged 4-8) loved the bunkroom, the grandparents loved the master suite upstairs and the parents were very comfy in the two downstairs queen rooms! The house is in a great location--close to beautiful Kings Beach, close to great hiking and close to casinos. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area if you can tear yourself away from this lovely home! The kitchen was perfect and had everything you could want and has lots of space to prepare & cook. There is a large dining room table that seats 10 easily and a little breakfast bar too. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us and there were lots of us! The couches were very comfortable--the living room is very comfortable. There are even 2 BBQ's depending on whether you want to BBQ in the back yard or on the front deck--what luxury! It was great having the downstairs mini-kitchen and the hot tub was very nice to have. The fenced back yard is great for kids and the house is in a nice & safe neighborhood. This house was immaculate which we really liked! We can't wait to return to Rocky Retreat and would recommend it highly. |

Your cabin/home was absolutely beautiful. Spent a lot of time in it as it rained almost everyday. Even got a little snow! The kids loved having their very own house downstairs and our dog enjoyed swimming in the lake. Still can't believe he actually went in. You leave nothing to be desired in your home. We didn't want to go and plan on coming up again next year. Hopefully, the weather will be a little more cooperative. Thanks so much for a memorable experience!!!

| We all had a great time despite the rain and even a little snow. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the lake. Can't believe he actually went swimming in Lake Tahoe. Your cabin/home was absolutely beautiful. The kids enjoyed having their own downstairs to themselves. We didn't want to leave and plan to come up again next year. Forgot just how beautiful Lake Tahoe really is. Such a majestic place and having all the comforts of home (and then some) made the entire stay perfect. You really have a first rate rental. | This house is well equipped to cook and feed a large group or single family. We were very pleased with service provided in making the rental agreement and recommendations on what is available in the area to meet our needs. On days when the roads are covered with heavy snow we recommend you turn your car to the right when you back out and go straight ahead thru the Cal-Neva Casino parking Lot to get to the main road. |

What a beautiful home with a great location. We come to Tahoe often but never to Incline. What a nice area! [Homeowners note: Rocky Retreat is near Incline but not actually in it.] Lots to do here--snowboarding, snow-mobiling & lots of shopping! ...The house is nicely decorated & very comfortable. May I please recommend supplying a baby gate for visitors with babies to use for the steps [Homeowner's note: good idea---we will do that!DONE]. And maybe a baby "Pack-n-Play" to use as a crib. [Homeowner's note: DONE -we also have a high chair now] Hot tub was awesome. Thanks for a terrific time.

| Rocky Retreat is gorgeous! Having rented quite a few cabins in the Tahoe area, I felt this to be by far the best appointed, cleanest, and most nicely decorated. It feels like a real home, with lovely furniture and appliances. Gail, the manager, was also quite a pleasure to do business with - unfailingly attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this spot. |

A very positive experience for our family. Rocky Retreat was well equipped & organized for our Thanksgiving stay. Two ovens helpful for the feast. The bunkroom with TV/VCR for the kids plus a kitchenette and hot tub downstairs created a relaxing atmosphere for adults. 6 adults and 4 young kids are comfortably accommodated.
A spectacular beach and bouldered cove await following a beautiful 5 min walk down to the lake. What a spot for a family Xmas photo! 3 casinos at Stateline are a 5 min walk away. Safeway is a 5 drive. Mt. Rose Meadows for tobogganing and NorthStar for skiing/snowboarding are both a traffic-free 20 min drive.
A perfect venue in an ideal location. AND it's dog-friendly! We look forward to our next visit soon. |

David and I and our two dogs had a wonderful time at your lovely home. It was a very nice and relaxing visit, and we did enjoy the 2 feet of snow as well in the middle of October! We did not get a chance to do any biking, needless to say, but we hiked part of the Tahoe Rim Trail, which was great, and we also had fun playing a lot of the board games provided at the house, as well as enjoying the private beach and soaking in your hot tub.
We will be sure to come and stay again.

We enjoyed this beautiful mountain retreat for a celebration of our parent's 50th wedding anniversary in August. The home was perfect for our immediate family to have a mini family reunion. The terraced back yard was a beautiful setting for an afternoon barbeque to celebrate their 50th anniversary with family and friends.

We just returned from a wonderful week at this lovely home in an ideal location. There were only 3 of use, and although the home accomodates many more people, it never felt too large. The house will definitely feel inviting and warm for any size group.
The beach right down the road is ideal for swimming, sitting in the sun, or climbing on the rocks. The hike to the top of the mountain you can see out the kitchen window is quite a workout, but well worth it. The view is specatular.
The house has everything you would want or need for your vacation (even a dictionary to settle scrabble debates). The homeowner has done an oustanding job of anticipating vacationer needs. The reference binders which maps, brochures, tips for shopping locally, sightseeing, recreational activities etc. are are just one example of the thoughtful touches throughout the house.
We look forward to staying at this wonderful home again in the future. |
