For my mom's 65th birthday I wanted to do something really special.

While in college, I spent a semester at the LSE. I fell in love
with every nook and cranny. I even liked the Barbican.

Without my mom's support and sacrifice I wouldn't have had such an
incredible opportunity, so I decided to share the city I love with
her.

Now, there are three parts to picking where to stay in London.
Price. Comfort. Location. You can have two of the three at any
given time. YOU WILL NEVER GET ALL THREE.

At least that is what I thought until a friend recommended Trinity
Square Flat. For the same price as a night in an okay London hotel
room in an okay location, I got a fabulous 2-level furnished
apartment; complete with a modern kitchen, washer and dryer, tv,
free internet and phone, ACROSS the street from the Tower of London.

When my mom saw the historic building, her jaw literally dropped
open. When we got inside the apartment, she smiled, her eyes
sparkled, she looked and me and said, "I can't wait to tell
Lynette. She is going to be so jealous!"

Every morning we would either make our own breakfast or if we
weren't in the mood, eat at the pub on the ground floor of the
building.

Then we'd walk across the street to people-watch at the Tower while
we planned out our day. Or not plan it. You are so close to
everything. Pick a direction. Start walking and you will find
something(s) to entertain you in less than five mnutes. There's
also a tube stop (Tower) just across the small but beautiful park.

I can't say enough great things about Trinity Square. so I'll just
leave you with what my mom said to me on the flight home.

"Thank you honey for the trip of a lifetime."

My wife and I just rented from Paul. Very honest and great guy. Don't be concerned about the "Wire Transfers" for deposit and payments. The keys will me mailed and there will be a flat there when you arrive!! Great location at Tower Hill / Financial District. Subway or Underground is just around the corner for travel to all attractions. Best way to travel the city in our opinion. Everything is really within walking distance too if your up for the walk down the Thames or across Tower Bridge. Taxi can be hailed right outside the doors for those of us that are lazy; meaning me. As for the flat / apartment, it really feels like home away from home. It is really clean, neat, and all the appliances work. A big plus + for us was the level of quiet in the building. You cannot hear the neighbors and being on the top floor was great. You can't put a price on that. The free calls back home with the free internet WIFI was also a major convenience for us. Big Big Bonus!!! There are plenty of guides, maps, books, and information about the city that is also very helpful in the apartment. Great view of the city and Tower Bridge from the easy and accessable roof. There is a great pizza place down the street and a few pubs or restaurants close to the flat. Most important FYI on the food scene is: CHECK CLOSING TIMES!! Grocery is also very close if you prefer to cook as we did. If you are coming into Pauls' Apartment / Flat through any London airport then taking a TAXI is best in our opinion. Around 60-80 pounds or $100-$120US. Taking a lot of luggage through the Underground / Subway does not look like a lot of fun. If your on the cheap or have little luggage, then Underground / Subway is your cup of tea. Good luck...

Lastly, but most importantly, we want to thank you Paul for the great service and stay at your place. London is a great city and one of our favorites traveled. Thanks for the hospitality, memories, and we look forward to another stay at your place when we come back. I'll recommend your place to all our friends and family if they are coming to London for a visit. For your future guests, you have made the right decision in choosing this apartment if your looking for comfort and convenience.

Thanks again Paul,

My adult daughter and I stayed here in late February 09. Two thumbs up..if you want to be close to it all, have a lovely veiw and lots of privacy, then book this flat. Also provided are many books and maps to aid in your planning of what to do and see, it's very close to many walking tours and the Tube. Many places to eat nearby. I hope to return with my husband in the future and would certainly seek out this rental again if Paul has a vacancy.

My wife and I stayed at the Tower Hill flat in early
February 2009. It is a perfect location in the heart
of the business district. The building is very quiet
and the neighborhood safe with restaurants and
pubs nearby. We found Paul, the owner, to be
completely honest and helpful with any and all
details concerning his rental. The flat is perfect for
a couple wanting to have a more personal
experience than a hotel. We plan to return to
London in the fall and will stay there again. Highly
recommended!!!

My wife and I stayed in the Trinity Square flat in March 2008 (just now writing the review January 2009). All transactions with the owner were professional, he was very responsive, and there was never a worry about anything. The location was great - especially with the Tower of London only 3 minutes walk away! The fact that it was right off of the Tower Hill tube stop was very helpful as well. The owner helped us with any question we had from where to eat nearby, to transportation inquiries, to sightseeing - he was critical in our successful trip. The flat was spotless and perfect for the two of us - we loved the alcove bed and the spiral staircase. The TV was not working while we were there but we were so exhausted each night that it did not matter. I would DEFINITELY recommend this flat to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable base for their London trip. I will most assuredly be looking to stay here again on our next trip to London. Enjoy!!

We were also a group of 5: 2 adults and 3 children, our eldest is 15, so almost an adult. Yes it was squeezy especially with all our luggage (we were on a 9 week round the world trip) but we had great fun rearranging ourselves and yes we did fit in. Paul does warn us about this so it was not a total surprise. Really the best thing about the apartment is the location: convenient to the Tube, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. There are Restraunts nearby and Tesco supermarket is 5 minute walk away. There is a larger supermarket at St Katherines Dock. Paul gives excellent directions.
We found Avis car rentals at the Hotel on the Waterfront just past Tower of London and under the Bridge. We took a day trip to South of London.
Paul supplies a great selection of guide books and some detailed notes on what to do locally. Unfortunately wedidn't get time to do most things.
We had to contact the apartment management twice during our stay. The hairdryer blew up and a new one was supplied the next morning. Also on leaving the apartment we locked up as instructed and then discovered we had left a bag upstairs locked inside the apartment. We frantically called Kremena (the manager) and fortunately she was able to get her cleaner to come in and start work early so she could let us back in the apartment. Fortunately we made check in for our flight with 5 minutes to spare. Thanks ladies!

We had a wonderful week in London. The flat was perfect for the 2 of us. We loved the location, so close to the Tube stop and to the Tower and Tower Bridge. We also enjoyed St. Katharine's Dock. We took the train to York for the day (great!) and also a bus tour to Windsor Castle, Bath and Stonehenge. But mostly we explored London on the Tube and on foot, and we had a blast!

I would echo what the Townsends said in their comment (June 2008). We were also a family of five (2 adults, three children) and we stayed for four nights. This was our first trip and Paul gave great directions from the airport. All transactions were professional and well done. Communication was excellent.

The location was excellent: near a nice little park, very near the Tube, and of course right across the street from the Tower. The view from the roof is great.

There is also a good supermarket pretty close (within a 5-6 minute walk), and lots of restaurants, banks and cash machines nearby.

Everything was clean when we arrived. The kitchen worked well. Would definitely recommend. It's a little tight for five people (not surprising) but definitely doable. It's split level so the family can spread out.

A wonderful time in London.

We just returned from a 3 week trip to Great Britain. The first 4 nights of the vacation were spent at this Trinity Square flat. Because this was our first trip overseas Paul made us feel very comfortable with all we needed to know about London and gave excellent directions to the flat. He was extremely professional with correspondence and the handling of money/deposit transactions. The flat was very well equipped and clean with a fantastic location near the Tube and the Tower. It was a bit tight with our three children and all of our luggage, but we were not surprised since it was advertised as such. I would recommend this flat to anyone wanting a very convenient and accommodating place to stay in London.

We had a fantastic week-long holiday at Paul's flat. The location is ideal, so close to the Tower and the Tower Hill tube stop. There were only 2 of us so there was plenty of room. Many previous guests have left guidebooks and maps which help in your planning. Make sure you get an "Oyster" card for the tube and bus fares.
We plan to go back and stay there again!

Staying here was wonderful for our family of 4: Our 2 daughters, ages 14 & 17 especially loved the flat, and oohed and aahed when we walked in! It was like a home away from home for us. There were so many things that were great. The location was ultra convenient, clean, safe and across from Tower of London, a 2 minute walk to the subway, 5 minute walk to a grocery store called Tesco, so we were able to buy groceries and cook in the kitchen which saved lots of money. The flat comes stocked with so many unexpected amenties: books to read, including London guidebooks/maps, videos to watch, phone to make free local calls, umbrellas, washer/dryer, dishes, pots, silverware, etc. Even had spices, olive oil, shampoo, etc. left from previous tenants so we didn't have to run out and buy some of that stuff. Paul, the owner was a joy to work with: Always responded to our queries in a timely manner, easy going, and professional. For the cost, compared to how much London hotels would be for a family of 4, this is an incredible value and we'll definitely be staying here again. Some thoughts for next time: I wish we'd remembered to visit the rooftop garden with the view, because I heard the views were wonderful. Also didn't care much for the pub just around the corner from the flat. (Wetherstones)? The beer was GREAT, but the food was just ok. And for 4 people, the sleeping arrangement works like this: 2 can sleep in the double bed upstairs, 1 sleeps on the sofa, and the 4th person can put the 2 big, comfy chairs together to form a "bed". It was all very comfortable and worked out great!

My husband and I spent 10 days in Paul's flat and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. I can't say enough about the location; it was nice to be in the city, but not right in the middle of more high traffic areas such as Kensington and Piccadilly. The tube stop is literally a block away which is priceless when you're pulling luggage behind you! It was so nice to have the kitchen and washer/dryer; cut down on how much we had to pack and saved a little money on food!! Also, it seems that several guests have left their converters there - check in the kitchen area. Lots of guidebooks left behind for other guests as well as one GREAT city map which I taped back together for subsequent renters!! There is also a nice collection going of travel size toiletries. Paul was wonderful to work with - lots of good advice and very responsive to inquiries. Should I ever find myself going to London again, I know where I'll be staying!!

My wife, 9-year old, and I stayed at Paul's flat for 3 nights. The price was comparable to what one would pay at a very nice hotel. It was clean and had everything we needed. The location is superb - 2 minutes to a tube stop and right near the Thames. The view from the roof was incredible. No complaints at all.

What a find! We needed a place in London for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. This flat worked out great and the price was even better. Not too toght for a family. (It would be romantic for a couple!). Beautiful and well-fitted apartment and a really nice location: close to tube (subway) so all of London was easily ours. A safe neighborhood filled with history, good food (including asuper market and casual pizza) and friendly locals. Our "landlord" Paul provided a warm welcome, professional money transaction and suggestions on local highlights. Check out the roof! This is a real find and I hope to be able to use it again.

We spent 3 weeks using Paul's flat as a base for our travels. My 3 kids (17 - 23 yrs) were enthralled with the flat and the location. How wonderful to be next door to the Tower and Tower Bridge! Great restaurants and pubs on the same street, and the Tower Hill tube stop 1 block away. It was a bit crowded for 4 people but very comfortable, and Paul was more than helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

We just returned from a 5 day stay in London at this flat, capping off a 3 week vacation in Europe, where we visited 8 countries. The flat was a perfect place to end our travels, as we had a great level of comfort and ease there, with everything we needed to feed ourselves, wash our clothes, etc., which very welcome after lots of restaurant meals, etc. The flat is in a great location right next to Tower of London, so much you wan walk to, right next to the tube station, and has every convenience without being "flashy". We were family of 4, and the 2 kids (pre-teen) were able to sleep downstairs on the sofa and chairs made into a bed, while we slept upstairs in the loft bedroom very comfortably and with some privacy. The owner was very accomodating, and there were many comfortable touches provided which made morning coffee, etc., easy & enjoyable. Though it is not a large psace, it was perfect for our needs, and I give it high marks (especially for Americans who might have some concern about things like showers, etc; this flat is owned by an American and is equipped in ways we are comfortable with!)

It was absolutely breathtaking to step out of the Tower tube station upon arriving in London, and there before us, the Tower of London and Tower bridge. It was equally as wonderful to discover that Paul's flat is just across the street at Trinity Square. What a privileged location! The apartment is an excellent find. It is affordable in a city that is phenomenally expensive. It is clean, modern, comfortable and has all the amenities one could possibly need. Because of its location, essentially, a financial district, the area was ours and quiet at night. There is a market just up the street and the convenience of the Tower tube station practically at one's doorstep is terrific. Paul is extremely helpful, available and hospitable. We are very grateful to him for making London easy to explore and comfortable (and possible!) to stay. This is a five star flat, not only because it is very nice, and in a lovely building but did we tell you about the Tower of London across the street? Two thumbs up for Paul's Place at Trinity Square. We highly recommend it.
