Hello Renee,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
My husband and I stayed at Gator's Den in November. We loved Kiawah Island.
The weather was great and the restaurants were wonderful. We had
Thanksgiving
dinner at the Turtle Point Grill. We also ate at the Rosebank Farm Cafe.
I fell in love with their green fried tomatoes. A good casual place to eat
in Charleston was Poogan's Porch.
We went on a Civil War Walk, a ghost walk tour, a carriage tour, toured the
aircraft carrier and visited Ft. Sumter. One week isn't enough time spend
in Charleston and Kiawah.
We also biked and visited the park on Kiawah everyday with our dog Tilly.
She loved chasing the squirrels, but the only gator we saw was at the
nature center lake. Oh well...
Thanks for a wonderful vacation. I'm sure we will visit again.

| Once again, we had a wonderful time on Kiawah Island. On our first day we had an alligator come visit us as we were looking over the lagoon. A beautiful white Heron spent the entire week pearched on a stump sticking up out of the lagoon right out the patio door. What a view. We went to the Ocean Course and entered the beach there where we found sand dollars, star fish and big lovely shells by the dozens. We also got to see some dolphins and several pelicans roosting. As instructed by Mrs. Webb we went to the southeast end of the beach at the change of the tide where we were able to view 3 dolphins (one a mom with child by its side at all times)that came up to us almost close enough to touch. There we also found several nice shells that are brought in with the change of tides. In the four visits to Kiawah Island, this was the best visit we have had and the best beach vacation we have ever had. Watching our children, ages 6, 9 and 13, taking in all the wildlife and ocean creatures, throwing starfish into the ocean to try and save them, and chasing ghost crabs at night was as good as it can get. Thank you for letting us rent your cottage! |

The weather could have been better, it rained every day but Friday was beautiful, as was Saturday (go figure, the day we had to leave). But we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again.
