Last 2 weeks we had a wonderfull vacation at Bettona! The 10 pers. appartment is really very large, nice, clean and tasteful decorated! While the portico was full of sunshine, we enjoyed the shadows on the (also very large and nice) covered terrace with its marvelous vieuws on the surroundings and especially on Bettona! It's almost impossible to discribe this sensation so we can absolute recommend the 'Casa della Ginestra'! Also thanks to Renato for the oil, wine and the bottles of fresh water when we arrived!

Me and my family really enjoyed our staying in La Casa della Ginestra! We were lucky with the weather, which was beatiful during our stay in May. The view from the pool is gorgeous and surrounding area is full of beatiful small villages and other places to see as well. You can find excellent supermarket in Collestrada, some 15 km from the property. There is no big supermarkets closer than that. All in all, this property is really recommendable as it stands on the hillside and has really beautiful views towards Bettona, Assisi and Perugia. Extra thanks to Renato and her daughter Camilla who made our stay really homely! :)

We were a party of 5 people on vacation and planning a week visit to the area of Umbria and eventually on to Rome.
We had rented the Casa Della Genestra for one week but after one day we felt we could stay there forever!!! Pictures on the web do not do it justice!
We had a beautiful apartment;3 bedrooms,3 baths very well supplied. plus a large deck in the back overlooking the beautiful countryside with tables and chairs to sit there and drink Bettona wines and watch the sunsets.
Our hosts Renato and his wonderful Mom, Lola were more than helpful catering to all our needs.
We would go back in a heartbeat!
Thank you Renato for the oil and wine we received upon our arrival.

What a wonderful accommodation for our first trip to Italy. The house was lovely, the view spectacular. It was close enough to walk to Bettona and a short ride to Assisi for catching trains to Florence and Rome. Renato, the host, was so welcoming. Would I return? Absolutely.

The main apartment was wonderful - everything we expected & more. The owners were very friendly & helpful. The only small difficulty was reading in the livingroom. There were no table lamps & the lighting is not bright. We would very definitely rent this proprty again.

Without doubt, the most elegent, tasteful and certainly the largest villa we have ever stayed. The website does not do this property real justice. Renato is the perfect host who is always there when you need him but never intrusive. We thank you for allowing us to share your property for 2 weeks.

Our three week stay at La Casa della Ginestra was absolutely marvelous. It is nearly impossible to describe the beautiful views of Bettona, Perugia and Assisi from the verandas of this magnificient home. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very well-appointed. Renato Morbidelli is a fine host who makes one feel most welcomed. A bottle of their own olive oil was a pleasant and fine tasting surprise. We would certainly return for another stay and highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay in Umbria.

Henri and I spent two weeks at this wonderful place in mid October/2007 for our 25th wedding anniversary. We rented the large beautiful house with gorgeous vistas that we enjoyed daily from the terraces. The house is comfortable and spacious, well equipped and well located for day trips anywhere in Umbria and a lot of Tuscany. The Morbidelli family were gracious and helpful hosts. We had an outstanding stay at Casa Morbidelli and probably will return at some point.

Renato and Lola - the perfect hosts - a perfect setting overlooking their olive groves, Bettona's walled city & further away, Assisi. We traveled to most of the hill towns and thoroughly enjoyed our Umbrian holiday.
The size of the house will surprise you. Four bedrooms (we were a group of 4 women) and we each had our room with plenty of space. We did seem to be back each night in time for the sunset with a glass of wine in hand to enjoy the view and review our events of the day and plan the next day activities.
Our rental car did have a GPS and Val (we named her) assisted with all our itineraries. This ranks high on my list of favorites and I'm happy to highly recommend. Best regards Renato & Lola.

My husband, Thom and I, just returned literally from our first stay at The Broom House and it will not be our last.

We were kindly hosted by Renato and his mother, Lola, during our stay. We started out 30 August to 1 September in the small apartment which was much larger than expected. The view from the dining area was magnificent. The only item of note is that since this is on the third floor the ceiling in the bathroom is very slanted and will be a challenge for taller guests. I'm 5'8" and found it challenging but not impossible.

From 1 September through 7 September we stayed in the large apartment (which is bigger than our house in Raleigh!) but not so big it loses charm. The hallways are wide and the rooms spacious with plenty of closet space and wonderfully decorated. But the windows, ohh the windows. You have these floor to ceiling door and huge windows that open to let in the most wonderful breezes from across the valley. Others have mentioned the view from the terrace, but it is hard to describe how beautiful, and pictures still fail to show amazing it really is. You can see Assissi and Bettona from the terrace which has two large teak dining tables and plenty of chairs which we used when we had dinner in one night and watched the the sun set. The sun sets over the mountains behind Bettona and it is like a postcard. We were even treated to fireworks one night from a festa in a neighboring town Passagio.

We have used VRBO before in the states but this was our first use for a property outside the US but it will be our ONLY location when we visit Italy again.

Thank you Renato for the olive oil, wine, and most of all for sharing the beautiful place we called "Our Italian Apartment" for too short a week.

Arrivederci e a presto!

P.S. If you have a GPS unit and you can buy the plug-in for Italy consider doing this. We used our Garmin Nuvi and it worked like a charm.

We (4 adults and 6 children)were Renatos guests from 7th. of July to 14th of July 2007. The property was a fantastic place with wonderful wiew both from the big balcony and the pool. Dinner at the balcony with sunset and wiew to Bettona is really to recommodate!

The property is situated close enough to Bettona to walk - a nice little town with very few tourists and some recomendable osterias. It is also very central to visit Assissi and other nice Umrian towns from the Middel ages.

Renato was a very helpful host. I hope he now also have provided wine glasses to the apartment for the comming guests. Milk glasses for tasteful Umbrian wines in not to recomend...But this was also the only negative thing to remark. We had a very pleasent stay!

Had a very nice two-week-vacation in this villa of Renato's family. Me, my wife and our 12-year-old daughter stayed at the mansard apartment for reasonable price. Renato always answered to our questions and information requests - and, indeed, we had a lot of them. Visiting to Bettona gave us real Italian feeling - although neither of us can Italian language.

Having just returned from our stay in Casa della Ginestra for 10 days in April, we have nothing but glowing comments to share. The villa is absolutely beautiful with its spacious and well appointed rooms, large bathrooms, four comfortable bedrooms, and beautifully decorated furnishings. You will also love the large outside porch with the view of Bettona and the towns nearby, as you can see across to Assisi and Perugia. We enjoyed having our coffee and even eating a meal outside on the porch, as hearing the birds sing in the morning and taking in the views were so peaceful and relaxing, and seeing the twinkling lights at night was also special. The large, comfortable apartment was like a home away from home, and the Morbidelli family including Renato and his mother are gracious hosts, available for any request we had. They provided useful maps and guidebooks of the local area for use while we were there, and included a bottle of their olive oil, a special momento of our stay. Renato was very accessible by email while we were planning our trip, and very welcoming when we arrived, always available and responsive. Having the friendly family members nearby was a definite advantage, as they were available if we had a request or needed advice. We hope to return and I have already recommended the Casa della Ginestra to friends and family, as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with the Morbedelli family in their beautiful Casa. You will be thoroughly happy with a decision to stay here, and leave with many beautiful memories of your stay in Umbria at wonderful Casa della Ginestra.

We had the pleasure to stay for three weeks in the "Mansarda", an extremely confortable appartement for two persons. The appartement is equipped very tastefully and meets all requirements perfectly. The house, situated on a hilltop, it offers a breathtaking view to Bettona and furthermore to Perugia and Assisi. The perfectly maintained garden with the pool invites to relax there every day (everything is even much nicer than you can see on the photos shown on the homepage). The hosts, Renato and his family, are very nice persons and do everything to make you feel at home. We can recommend it to everybody without any reservations (also because of the high value you get for the reasonable rate)!

Our stay was fabulous. The 270 degree view is incredible. We could see Perugia, Assisi, Todi and all towns in between and could get to all of these towns within 45 minutes. We stayed two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Renato is a gracious and accomodating host who responds immediately to any requests and is more than willing to help with any information or suggestions his guests might need.

If you want to enjoy Umbria at its best, this is the place to stay. It is breathtakingly beautiful and Renato Morbidelli and his family are the perfect hosts.

We recently spent a week at the house with our entire family-8 adults and 5 children- and are already wondering when we can go back.

The house is perfect for a large group, and renting the house and apartment makes a perfect arrangement for a family, with the younger folks downstairs (our 3 children and their children) and the upstairs a perfect hideaway for grandma and grandpa.

The area around BEttona is wonderful for exploring and the hilltowns of Umbria are all within easy drive. It was a superbly rewarding week for us with equal parts exploring the area, and enjoying the house and grounds.

All we can say is "GO! GO!"

Our stay at Casa della Ginestra was fabulous. The
rooms were large and tastefully decorated, and the
views and sunsets from the windows and the deck
were absolutely amazing. One unexpected
pleasure: after a day of sightseeing, we could all
come back and find some private time in the house
or on the deck before coming back together to
cook the evening meal. The Morbidelli's also
couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating
to our needs, and we loved the complimentary olive
oil that came from their property.

We spent two weeks in this delightful house from 3/6/06 - 17/6/06 I would reiterate all the previous guests comments . We have rented many houses over the years in France and Greece but this must rate as the best ever. Everything about the house is a delight from its incomparable views to its flexibility . The big house has a wonderful veranda overlooking the valley where meals can be eaten but also a sundeck at the front ideal for sunbathing. The house itself is spotless and cool. Satellite television demonstrates to English speakers that they are in a minority in Europe ( which can't be a bad thing!) The lounge is very comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious and cool.
Wildlife is everpresent from the verandah including impressive displays of fireflies after dark. We saw hoopoes and heard nightjars cuckoos owls and what we think was a porcupine ( we found a quill!)
Neighbouring towns are wonderful and here we were spoilt for choice . Our favourites were Montefaco Bevagna and Spello ,but Assisi and Siena have the best church architecture we have ever seen.
Our only reservation in giving the house such a strong recommendation is that it might make it more difficult to secure future bookings but that's life!

We really enjoyed the two weeks in La Casa, surrounded with ills and olive-groves, with a wonderful view on Bettona and Assisi. The house is very well situated to visit one of the most beautiful and the most attractive area in Italy with a great cultural and natural diversity. Ideal for one day trips to the wonderful towns of Ombria.
The apartment (mansarda) is very comfortable and decorated with taste. The Morbidelli family (we met Renato and his mother) is very nice, provided the guests with everything they need. Both Renato and Lola are attentive and helpful, and never intrusive.Respect of privacy is requested from the guests and from the owners, and it is a nice experience.
We have already recommended La Casa to friends and recommend too the next restaurant, "5 Cerri". And everyone must see Bevagna.

We very much enjoyed our two weeks in Umbria and
at La Casa della Ginestra. The walking around the
countryside of Bettona was magnificent. The town
itself was warm and welcoming. The markets and
the restaurants were beyond our expectations.
The culture and arts of the region were impressive.
In other words, we had a terrific time and the
Morbidelli family helped to make it so.

Our stay at Casa della Ginestra was made really welcoming by Renato who provided the friendly advice and help to allow us to get the most out of our short stay in Umbria. The view to Bettona from the garden is truly stunning, and with a G&T in hand and the sun setting, there are few better ways to lose the stresses of life!!

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO THE
FUTUR GUESTS "LA CASA DELLA
GINESTRA". All the comments you
could read about are true : this is a
heaven place, very quiet and perfectly
located. From our own experience
we could say that the negociation of
the rent and emails we exchanged
with the owner have been fast and
done on time. We received a warm
welcome by all the Morbidelli family,
from the grand ma to the kids. As
one part of the family is living here all
the time, you will never feel without
resources and take many advantage
by their presence (good adresses,
information about the area, italian
way of life...).
Finally, we would like to thanks
Renato for his suggestions and
adresses of very good restaurants
and shops (specially the 2 little
shops located in Bettona where you
will find local products very cheap
and the best fruits and vegetables
we ever ate).
Wish we could have always that kind
of renting.

Our holidays in Bettona were great. When we arrived, the owner, Mr Morbidelli, gave us a friendly welcoming. The house is nice and beautiful and the sight of bettona's village is amazing (you can see it when you stay in the swimming pool). Gentle people, serenity, nature and typical italian food make Umbria a perfect destination.

Staying in the owner's amazing home was a dream come true. The house sits
on a hill overlooking not only Bettona but Assisi, Perugia and a vast
panorama or moutains, hills and vallies. The directions were great and we had no trouble driving up to reach the house. It was only a short walk down
the hill back into Bettona where we ate at a wonderful restaurant recommended by the owner. The house itself was spotlessly clean, beautiful, spacious and quiet, surrounded by olive groves. It had everything and more for a luxurious holiday. The family were warm, friendly and helpful. The position was very convenient for short day trips to Assisi, Perugia, Todi,
Deruta, Montefalco, Bevagna, Gubbio, Spello and Spoleto. We will not forget
our week in Umbria, the amazing vistas and the owner and his family's warm
hospitality. We hope to return some day and will definitely recommend to friends.

I'm very gratified with this choice for my holiday, one of the best never made. The house is very nice, and its position in the hills near Perugia and Assisi (both 20 minutes from the house) guarantees peace and quiet. I think the owners (i talked only with the owner's mother) are nice people: polite, discreet and helpfull. I was free to do anything: i felt like i was at home.

We are spending 4.5 months in the Casa Grande and are so pleased we found this property and this family who are very helpful and accomodating.

The house is extremely well located midway between Perugia and Assisi. It sits on the top of a hill and offers suburb and ever-changing views of the Etruscan town of Bettona below, as well as a splendid panorama of the Umbrian countryside below the house.

From different windows and terraces you can see Assisi and Perugia -- the night views are a dazzling display of twinkling lights spread far and wide across the valley.

The villa owners are extremely friendly, helpful and gracious, one could not ask for more. We hope to return many times to this wonderful place in future. We looked at many villas in this area before chosing this one, there is no comparison, this one wins hands down!
