Even though we arrived later at night parking was easy and free which is not the case with most other resorts in this popular area. Since 301 is a corner unit its ideally located with quick access to the elevator not to mention awesome views from the patio. We skipped the mirrored bedroom with king size bed and chose to sleep on the spacious lanai with very comfortable futon. Here after much stargazing, we were lullabied to sleep by waves crashing on the shore, literally, directly beneath us. At dawn surreal pink and purple colors spread across the water and sky perfectly framed by palm tree branches. I took photos from my bed to prove I wasn't dreaming The owners have decorated with large canvases of local photos that inspire the photographer everyone. All the appliances, dishware and furnishings are top notch, making tasks simple and meals elegant. I was especially pleased with the water filter pitcher and very large refrigerator. The walk-in shower with sunflower shaped showerhead is phenominal and the towels are thick and soft. Another nice touch is that many extras are provided like candles, spices, condiments, games and books, boogie boards, beach mats and even sunblock. Its hard to need anything. :) Infact its so comfortable its easy to be lulled into just laying around appreciating it all.

Maui Kai 301 is absolutely the nicest condo unit I have ever stay in. Not because it was a 5-star facilty, but because Shayla has provided you with absolutely everything you could possibly want or need for your visit. AND it is soooo clean you could almost eat off the floor.
Great TV, great bed, exceedingly well stocked kitchen. The futon on the lanai is as comfortable as a bed--really. My husband slept out there every night and loved it.
You just can't go wrong with this unit. Believe the reviews and book it! Great value, great location, great owner to work with! |

| Wonderful spot wonderful condo. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. We stayed on the lanai most of the time watching surfers, sunsets and sail boats. The owners have done a excellent job in decor and comfort. We will be back next year. Try their other condo in Hana, it's just as nice and very different. |

My parents and I stayed at the Maui Kai unit 301 from Feb 16-26, 2009 for our first trip to Maui. We booked directly with the owners, Shayla and Mark Middleton via their website.
I am a Travel Agent, and started doing research about where to stay in Maui about 9 months prior to departure. I chose locations based on distance to the beach, price, parking fees, Internet access and location on the island. I decided on the Maui Kai when I started reading reviews on it. It has better reviews than any other property I was interested in, and people kept mentioning unit 301.
Maui Kai has free parking (usually $10.00 per day at other resorts), and free Internet access at the pool cabana with a printer (wireless is available in the unit if you bring a lap top).
The unit is beautiful, exactly like the pictures on the website. The king bed in the master was great because it is a Sleep Number bed. I slept on the pull out couch and have never slept better in my life. Bathroom is gorgeous. We all loved the shower. We did have a problem with it being clogged one night, but a couple of pumps on the plunger and it was fine the rest of the stay. Kitchen is great, nicer than the one I have at home. The lani is to die for. Great chairs and futon made sitting on the lani comfortable.
The condo is well equipped with everything you need. Some things we weren’t sure would be there but were happy to see: paper towels, tin foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, salt and pepper. Of course, to be a good condo renter you need to replace anything you use. Linens and towel are also provided.
We did laundry, which is located on each floor. No issues there, costs $1.00 in quarters.
I would definitely recommend this unit or the Maui Kai in general to anyone. It is on a great beach, with great calm snorkeling spots near by (when we were there it was unusually windy and couldn’t snorkel in front of the unit). We were able to watch whales, turtles and dolphins from the lani. It was hard to get anything done because someone was always out there yelling to come see the whales.
The worst part about staying at the Maui Kai is having to leave. It was definitely a hard day that I hadn’t been looking forward to since getting on the plane in Toronto. Once home, our security deposit was refunded in about a month.

| My wife and I spent 10 glorious days at Maui Kai#301. The unit is clean, well appointed, well furnished and better than described in the listing. The views are absolutely spectacular and you do actually awaken to the sound of waves. This was our eighth trip to Maui and this is the best place we have stayed. |

| We bribed our young adult sons to spend some Xmas holiday time with us by taking them to Hawaii. The bribe worked! We all had a fantastic time snorkeling, watching the waves and hanging out on the lanai. It was a perfect set up for us with three separate sleeping areas. You thought of everything - a wonderful basket of treats to welcome us, snorkel equipment, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedding. The location couldn't have been better. We walked next door for happy hour and a few meals. It was also a close drive to Wailea. We enjoyed some of the wonderful restaurants nearby, a few fantastic hikes (check out the swinging bridges) and meandering around the town. I couldn't believe how close the condo is to the beach! As someone who works hard in my private law practice, it's so important to get away and spend time together as a family. Thanks so much for your graciousness and sharing your beautiful hideaway with us. We can't wait to return. Maybe there will be six of us next time! Thanks again! |

| This place was AMAZING! We could not of asked for more! The views were incredible. We saw Green Sea Turtles and Spinner Dolphins from the Lanai! The shower, as everyone else has raved about, was wonderful! Sitting on the Lanai watching and listening to the ocean was so relaxing! Everything we needed was here. The Maui Kai met all of our expectations. We just wish we could move in and live there. The view from the lanai is outstanding and it was one of my favourite things from the holiday. We all loved to sit out there and just watch the people going by and listen to the waves slapping against the shore. The whales were jumping every single day and we finally saw turtles on the morning we were leaving.
The shower was one of the nicest we have ever seen and the shower head was awesome. Ron and I have stayed at a number of luxury hotels and none of them came close to this shower. We all loved it and hated to shut the water off. The glass looks great and the wavy top is so appropriate. Are the ceiling tiles bamboo? I have a lot of joint and muscle problems and the king size bed was so comfortable.

The condo was great. One of the things we really appreciate is that we need not worry about is cleaning staff. It is always a concern when leaving valuables in a rented place. One doesn't have to be concerned that someone will come in to clean when one is resting. Staying in your condo is like one is in ones own home, and that is so appreciated.
You do a fantastic job in seeing that everything one needs is there. Though we didn't use any snorkeling equipment, beach chairs etc. they are available. You do pay attention to detail, and that is much appreciated. Thanks.
If we decide to return next winter, we shall give you a call.

I don't know if I mentioned how much we enjoyed the CDs that were in the condo. We have become fans of Marty Dread and bought his CD since getting home. We found out the night before we were leaving that he performs every Monday night at the Hard Rock Cafe. Unfortunately, it was too late for us to see him but maybe next time! :o)
I also enjoyed the books that were in the condo. In fact, the little book called "Ohana" impressed me enough to go buy a copy while I was there.

You were right!! -- We loved it!! We had such an incredible time -- but I have been trying to curb my enthusiasm because I have told so many people about #301 that I'm afraid that if we get to return, one of my friends or their friends will be there ahead of me!! — T. decided that he would ignore the Maui legends and take some lava & assorted volcano rocks home -- he then lost his glasses, had our rental cars tire go flat, dropped the digital camera & broke it & then locked the keys in the car on check-out day!! -- Pele at work!! I drug that bag of rocks to the beach north of Kaanapali and dumped them under a tree — we made it to St. Louis in one piece.

Yes, our visit did exceed our expectations. We have never enjoyed ourselves as much as we did during this visit. And, we would like to return sometime during either March or April for, hopefully, a longer time. We never used the air-conditioning, we opened up the windows and pulled back the screens and let the air in...The very first time that we came to Hawaii we stayed at the Maui Kai --and that is how we got hooked. We won that at a Charity auction. We ate many of our dinners at the Condo because the Sunset is SOO spectacular. - We thank you!!!

Your place couldn't have been more perfect for our family while we were in Maui. It almost felt like our own home because we did not want for anything. We loved the snorkeling gear and found a most beautiful place to explore. An eel even jumped out at us!! : We took a sunset cruise and guess where they parked the boat for the sunset? Yep- you guessed it, right outside 301. We could have stayed on the lanai and saved the money. We jumped off the rock at the Sheraton and felt 20 something again. The kids really loved that. We loved your place so much that after a week we sent our kids home to family and had 2 days to ourselves. We had so much fun. Maui Kai #301 was a wonderful 'home' for our family during our stay in Maui. We gave our boys, aged 7 and 9, the bedroom so we could sleep on the lanai every night! What a treat! We made good use of the kitchen, no nicely equipped and clean. The décor throughout the condo was much to our liking as well. We have been to Hawaii many times but this was our first trip with our boys, and we appreciated the kid-friendly atmosphere and activities available. The location, the quiet, the long walks and swimming, it was all delightful, a trip we will never forget. We will certainly be happy to recommend Maui Kai #301 to anyone considering a trip to Maui.

Your condo was AWESOME! It was everything that I had hoped for. My family and I had a great time at the Maui Kai. The location was perfect as was the amenities you offered. We had such a wonderful time I hated coming home. Your condo added to the enjoyment of our trip. We especially enjoyed the views from the lanai. Whale watching was a favorite pass time and we also were very privileged to see two HUGE Turtles swim up to the beach right in front of the lanai as they were mating. Our tour guide on the Road to Hana told us that people rarely see that. The condo was very comfortable. Thank you for sharing it with us. We look forward to other trips to Maui in the future.
